The Fine Art of Student Council

When the marching band isn't trekking around on the football field, they're here, in the fine arts building, tuning those instruments. Choir students come here to sing their heart out, jazz band performs here... the fine arts building is, as you may have guessed, a building for the artistically inclined of Southridge High.

The Fine Art of Student Council

#1

Post by riserugu* »

Usually at the end of the school meant the end of dealing with everything related to said school and its campus, not for Ianto though – he had more than most of his afternoons dedicated to this place, pretty sure if their council President could get away with it he probably already would have sold his soul away to this place as well. That wasn't to say that Andrea was scary… well that was a lie, Andrea was a bit on the scary side sometimes, an eighteen-year-old girl that was way too mature for her age and reminded you of those cold businesswomen who'd could lower the room temperature by twenty degrees just by looking at you. Yup, that more or less summed up the President rather nicely, though she had never been mean per say, she was just always so serious and fiercely dedicated to whatever she put her mind too.

In a way it was almost impressive that she could be his age yet still be so mature at the same time, Ianto finding himself chuckling a bit at these thoughts as he glanced up toward the clock hanging on the other sigh of the room with a purse of his lips, it was still about ten minutes before the council meeting was supposed to start so he wasn't terribly surprised he was the only one here. Helped that his classroom was right down the hall from where the student council got to use an old, little classroom and also acted as a storage closet of sorts for the theater troupe it seemed. Leaning back in his chair as he lifted his feet to rest a top the table, picking up one of the magazines laying scattered about that had to deal with their topic of discussion today, that was more planning concerning the prom.

Mostly though was laying down the final decision for the theme, then there was taking care of food and drinks for the people going to be there, as well as the music, then there was dealing with the votes for queen and king. This defiantly called for getting something to drink and a snack for all of this started, moving his feet down from the table and heading out the door, moving downstairs and quickly finding one of the vending machines that where dotted about the campus and grabbing himself that he hoped would tide him over for however long this meeting might last for. Taking a moment to stop by and speak with a friend as he still had time to spare before moving back upstairs and back into the student council, which was still –much to his displeasure—empty and lacking any other council member accept for himself.

Placing his drink and snack down, he opted for sitting on the small table and opening the magazine he had been looking over open again and glancing over the contents of ideal themes that they could use for prom. Going over some in his head, Red Carpet Romance didn't sound terribly bad and didn't sound like it would hurt their budget too much… Midnight in Paris didn't sound bad either, though wasn't that the name of a porn video? School officials probably wouldn't be too happy if they went with that theme. Something Under the Sea-ish would be something interesting to try and create.

Flipping the page, he pursed his lips in a thoughtful manner, humming somewhat in thought – stuff with moons and stars where over done too much, though the Shanghai Moon theme looked interesting too… something that had a Mardi Gras theme too it seemed rather interesting as well, least as long as none of the girls pulled down their tops… though with this bunch they could have a cowboy themed prom and they'd still find some way of flashing everyone. Shaking his head somewhat, he placed the magazine and aside it would probably be in his favor to just wait for the rest of the council or at least Andrea before he gave himself a hemorrhage trying to think of doing this by himself.

"But where everyone is, is the question." Ianto found himself muttering as he took a drink of his coke, leaning back a bit and glancing once more at the clock.
