Valentine's Day Blues

Jonathan was on his own in Cheryl's. He didn't really like the place that much. But some of the food was good so he couldn't complain that much. This was a special day for him. No, not just because it was Valentine's Day. But it was also his birthday. He thought it kind of sucked that his birthday was normally overshadowed by Valentine's Day or Single's Day or whatever people wanted to call it. His family didn't really like to celebrate birthdays that much anyway. So he couldn't really mope about it.

He sighed softly. He picked up his glass and took a huge gulp of water. Maybe he should order something to eat. He was feeling a bit indecisive. So he could take his time. There was really no reason for him to rush. He would wave for an waitress' attention when he was ready. He thought that it was a shame that his parents were too busy today. They did wish him a happy birthday so that was good enough for him. He could have a good day on his own. He had done it many times before.

He turned his head to glance out of the window and he took out his phone to check out some of his recent messages. Hm. Nothing of interest to read. He put his phone down on the table and he sighed again. Maybe someone will come in from Cochise and he could start a conversation with them. It would be nice if he could have someone to talk to while having something to eat.
