S127 - Forsyth, Colm [DECEASED]

#1

Post by Ruggahissy »

Name: Colm Forsyth
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Grade: Senior
School: John Endecott Memorial Academy
Hobbies and Interests: Hiking, accordion, languages, camping, zoo ambassador

Appearance: Colm is very tall and wide, standing 6'3'' and weighing 275 pounds. He has a considerable amount of muscle from his hiking and fondness of long walks, but he also is somewhat chubby, which causes him some insecurity. He is fair-skinned and burns easily and is without tattoos or piercing. He has dark red, fine, straight hair which is cut short. His eyes are gray and wide. He has an average-sized nose and a full, round face. His lips are also of average size with a pronounced Cupid's bow. His face is one that would be described by most as welcoming and he frequently smiles. He has a slight Scottish accent, but is good at imitating different accents and if needed, can sound completely American.

In dress, he is quite casual. He almost always wears jeans, plain T-shirts, and dark-colored hoodies. In winter, he wears a dark navy blue peacoat. On the day of abduction he was wearing thick blue jeans, a long thermal shirt in forest green, his navy peacoat, a pastel pink knit scarf, and black winter hiking boots.

Biography: Colm was born to father Daryl and mother Carol in Inverness, Scotland. He has one younger brother, Mark, who was born 7 years later. Daryl was an American Naval engineer stationed at Inverness and his mother was a house cleaner who lived nearby the base. The two would see each other in town and eventually fell in love. They married and had Colm not long after.

When Colm was eight years old, his father was transferred to Boston and given an administrative job. Daryl had put in for the transfer, hoping to be closer to his much larger family so that their son could have access to his cousins. They settled in Salem, which was close to his family and seen a good suburb to raise a family in. When the family moved, Mark was only a year old, and so does not remember Scotland.

Colm was quite a sociable child, capable of making friends and learning quickly. His mother actually had a more difficult time acclimating to the change, and so he felt that he had to help her as well as helping to take care of Mark. His father was frequently at work and could be a bit callous, so from a young age he was used to taking on more responsibilities, being more of a parent at times than his parents to Mark, and serving as emotional support for his mother, who only worked part-time cleaning now.

In school, people found him to be funny and smart. He was seen as being mature for his age by adults, which he was often proud of. Other kids often came to him for help with things. This became more pronounced as he entered into middle school and shot up in height and size.

Ever fond of trying many different things to see if he liked an activity, Colm signed up for band in middle school. He wasn't sure what he wanted to play, but the band teacher suggested the accordion, partly because he was big and strong enough to carry the instrument. He ended up taking to the instrument well and eventually bought one of his own, used. Colm enjoys surprising people with how nice of an instrument it can be as it has a reputation for being annoying. He is sometimes contracted out for events and weddings to come play. Recently, his accordion has been in the shop for repairs. While playing, a younger member of band advised him to get a sturdy strap for the instrument. However, believing that he was capable of holding it without one, Colm ignored the advice. When he hit a patch of ice on his way home, he dropped it and the left body cracked.

As middle school progressed, Colm became taller and put on more weight. He was desperate to try and get in better shape and had always liked nature, so began taking long walks in the wilderness. He enjoys listening to podcasts and walking for long stretches, sometimes 10 miles at at time on the weekends. A natural extension of this is he wanted to spend more time out in nature on his walks, and began camping. In the beginning, Colm wouldn't go too far and would only be gone for one night, but as he aged into high school he would go for a weekend or three nights in summer. He would always text his mother with his route so that his family could know to call for help if he didn't return when he was supposed to, but thankfully this has never been necessary. Colm finds it peaceful to be out on his own and likes to be in an environment where no one can ask anything of him, as he is sometimes stressed helping his family members at home.

His long excursions and frequent walks did do a bit to slim him down and have made him very strong, but he is still quite chubby. As he went into high school, he came to acknowledge that he was gay. However, Colm has only had one boyfriend and believes that he would not be popular in the dating scene because of his physical appearance. People frequently tell him he's handsome, but he feels too badly about his body, especially when seeing the kinds of body types that are popular in gay online communities for young men.

When Colm turned 16, his class took a trip to the nearby Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He so enjoyed the trip that he signed up to become a teen zoo ambassador, which is a volunteer position that helps lead tours and provide education about the animals. He is a big fan of spending time near the animals, sometimes being allowed close to the gentler animals, and likes to teach people about them.

While Colm lived in Scotland, part of his curriculum included learning Gaelic, which is the norm for schools there. He always enjoyed this and has kept it up to today, happily learning other languages as well. He's only conversational in Gaelic and Spanish, but knows a decent amount of Arabic and French as well. Occasionally on weekends, he'll go to meet-up groups for these languages to practice. He loves learning about other cultures and finds language-learning to be fun.

In school, Colm is a good student. He earns low As and teachers enjoy him, though he can sometimes jump ahead steps without waiting for instruction because he feels he knows what to do, though this isn't always the case. He's very helpful with other students, but can be seen as a little bossy sometimes, doing things like offering to help people who seem to be struggling even if they haven't asked. Some people appreciate this, while others don't. Colm is applying for colleges, but isn't sure what he'd like to major in and would be undeclared at first.

At home, he is close to his brother Mark. His relationship with his father is a little strained because his father would like for his son to be more masculine than he is and is disappointed that Colm hasn't taken up any sports. They also disagree on politics, with Daryl being fairly conservative. Colm loves his mother, but can sometimes get exasperated helping her with things. She's come to depend on him and will sometimes default to asking him to help her do chores above anyone else.

Colm has many friends and is seen as funny, gregarious, and competent.

Advantages: Colm is quite big and strong. He is used to walking very long distances and has a lot of knowledge about surviving in the wilderness. He is used to being self-sufficient and is generally well-liked.
Disadvantages: He has a tendency to ignore the input of others, thinking he knows what is best, which has lead him to disregard good advice in the past. Some people who have been annoyed by his overbearing tendencies may not want to ally with him.

Designated Number: Student No. 127

---

Designated Weapon: Splitting maul

Conclusion: He's a big guy so I'm sure he'll have no problem getting a kill with that. It's kill or be kilt. - Abby Soto
