A one shot.

Built to allow the occupants of the research base to move between buildings during even the harshest of weather, the tunnels are long, dark and cold concrete pathways that lead between each building with a junction in the middle. Anywhere on the research station can be reached via the tunnels. However, aside from the Quarters, the entrance and exits to the other buildings are all located just outside, necessitating a brief spell in the elements regardless of the destination.

John tried to simply walk from the situation. They weren't one to just walk away from their problems, but when the situation arose they definitely were one to walk it off. Literally.

They would sometimes leave friends for a good 10 minutes to go around the block. Listen to some music. That stuff. But rarely did they not come back.

John did not want to come back to that dead body. I mean, who does? This isn't a particularly new thing.

Then they saw a door. A...doorway, I guess. Reminds them of some college campuses with the winter tunnels. They stepped to look down the tunnel.

That's...dark. Though maybe it would make for a good escape if someone came after them.

Or...maybe it would just be really easy to get surrounded.

John's mind went from someone else dying to themself dying. And, even worse, the dark.

Yeah..nope.
