(Jon contiued from Let the Prom Begin!)

Jon drove as he tapped the steering wheel to the beat. He hadn't told Chase where he was going, but he hoped he liked it. He liked her well enough, which was weird. There was just something in the way she moves, the way she woos. He didn't want to leave her now. He took a left turn as he came upon the field. It was recently cut and everything was set out, a large blanket, a cooler in the trunk with some drinks, water, soda, the usual. Nothing illegal though, mostly because he couldn't get any. He also brought sandwiches.

He stopped in front of the field, his grandfather owned it, he used it for bow practice, using the large hay bales a few yards away from where the picnic was. he opened his door as he walked over to Chase's and opened her door, leaning in to give her a kiss on the cheek. "Hi Chase, I made us a picnic, hope you don't mind"

((Anna Chase continuing from Let The Prom Begin!))

Where were they going?

Chase presumed it was around back to his house. They were in a field. A field? Yeah, a field. What would they do in a field? She was curious, really.

And then they stopped. Jon got out of the car and opened her side, saying something about a picnic. A picnic? They were going to have a picnic? Well, admittedly, Chase hadn't eaten before she left. But, more importantly, it was... well, a picnic. Wow, he really went all out!

"I... don't mind at all."

As he kissed her cheek, Chase smiled to herself. Well, this seemed to go by pretty smoothly! Chase definitely had fun. Likely Jon did too. She got kissed and everything!

And so, she stepped out of the car. Chase couldn't help but wonder if she should help him with anything. After all, it wouldn't be fair if he was the one doing all the work, right? He had been treating her nicely, after all.

But on the other hand, he might not need any, and might prefer doing it by himself. None the less, she spoke up. It was better to ask and receive a no than to just sit there, right? Right.

"If... if there's an-anything that needs to-to be s-set up, may I help?"

"If... if there's an-anything that needs to-to be s-set up, may I help?"

Jon poked his head up as he pulled out the cooler and food. "Uh, no, thanks anyway Chasey" he said as he set the stuff down on the blanket and walked over to her, putting his arm around her shoulder. "You know Chase, I'm glad I said yes to you" he said as he glanced at the distance, obviously thinking about something as he turned to look at her. "So, are we like a couple now?"

No help, then?

Well, it was good she asked, at least. After all, it would have been rude to do just whatever. As noted, he could have been the type to simply want to do things without help, and all by himself. But, he could have also needed help. It turned out to be the former, and that was that.

So now, she watched as Jon placed the things on the blanket. Chase could see that he had a cooler and food out for them. She probably wouldn't eat too much, though, as she didn't want to come off as a pig to her date. Ah well. She was fairly comfortable around Jon now, however. At first the idea of screwing up would have shocked Chase to her core.

But now?

She was sure this evening was going to end well. She was around 99.99% sure, actually. There was a bit of lingering doubt, but Chase was calm now. Everything was going to be fine.

And now he was placing his arm over her shoulder again. Apparently, he enjoyed this, too! He was glad he asked her out. Yup, he liked her.

"I... I'm glad I asked you out. I w-was a little n-nervous when I asked, but... I had fun."

He was if they were a couple now. Well, in a sense, they were. But... he was asking if they were now... you know. Chase smiled again at the thought. A boyfriend? Well...

"I think we are. Don't you think?"

She turned her head towards him, giving him a smile. Well, she wasn't sure if it was "official" just yet. But, she was happy. And well, there was a good chance they would end up having a moment like this in the future, right?

Jon smiled as Chase said she thought they were a couple. "Well now that we are officall a couple, I say we seal it with a kiss" he said as he kissed Chase lightly on the lips. He then gestured at the picnic. "Now, you want to go lie down and look at the stars while we have a small meal?" He said as he held Chase close. He was really glad he came, he almost said no, in fact 99.99999% of the time, he would of said no, but he did, mostly because he actually liked her a bit. It's like his dad used to say, when you found the one, you found the one. Then again, his dad also said he was a worthless pile of shit, but screw him what did he know.

Jon noticed Chase wasn't looking as he looked at her body, before focusing back on her face. She was nice looking, wonder what she looked like naked. No bad Jon, bad. Stop thinking with that part of your anatomy, you aren't one of those small balled steroid using buffoons on the football team. He sqeezed Chase's shoulder as he looked around. "Don't worry about anyone finding us, my grandfather owns most of the surronding acreage

So, he seemed to agree with her. Great! Chase was overjoyed. She and Jon... an item. If she was dreaming, please don't wake her up.

At which point, he said something about sealing it with a kiss, and promptly, for a second time, kissed her again. Now that she had been kissed before, it was less awkward than last time, but to Chase... well, it was still a kiss. As their lips parted, Chase looked at him shyly, though it was very apparent she was happy.

At this point, Jon mentioned that they should eat their picnic and look at the stars. Sure, why not? It was just going to be the two of them... alone...

"Sure, I'd love to", she whispered.

As if he felt he needed to have something pointed out before she asked, Chase felt Jon squeeze her shoulder, and mention that his grandfather owned the field, so someone coming across them should not be too much of a problem. Great! And not only that, they weren't trespassing on someone else's private property, either. Which was good, too. After all, people didn't like that, not one bit. So, it was just them, huh?

Jon grinned as he took his new girlfriend to the blanket. Wow, never thought he would say that word. He just figured he was doomed in the ways of love, doomed to be the Randy Meeks of the world. Instead he was the......Jon paused in his thoughts as he tried to remember anyone in the Scream series who was male who wasn't insane or dead. Oh yeah, the cop guy.

He stopped as he lied down, patting a spot next to him. The blanket was a normal sized blanket for a picnic, just big enough that it won't be awkward, but small enough that she could snuggle into him. Jon had to admit, he liked the idea of Anna snuggling into him. It made him think of his grandparents, he would try to be like them. They never fought. He smiled as he grinned at Anna

After they headed towards the blanket, Chase promptly plopped herself face-down, and, upon realizing that she could not look at the stars with her face to the ground, quickly flipped herself on her back. She softly giggled playfully like a mischievous child as Jon placed herself next to her.

As they looked at the stars, Chase tried to spot a few constellations. Well, she didn't know very many. But, she knew a few. There was Ursa Major, a bear, apparently. It didn't look like a bear to her, more like a pan, which was probably why it was also known as the Big Dipper. And there was Orion. And Andromeda. And Cassiopeia. And the Zodiac. And... well, those were all the constellations she knew. Again, she didn't know too many.

But, she found the Bear. It was just above her head, of course. So, their heads were facing north, huh? Not sure if it was in any way relevant to the scene, but hey, it was there.

"Look Jon. I think I can see the b-bear. It's just above our heads", she mentioned, pointing up at the sky with her finger.

Wait, did he even know what she was talking about? Possibly.

God, the stars were beautiful tonight, too. It was all nice and starry... perfect.

Chase pooped down next to Jon as she turned over, her body close to Jon's. She started looking up at the night sky as Jon followed her gaze. The stars looked bright tonight, almost as if something big was happening. Jon the noticed Chase was saying something about a bear above them. What did she mean by that......oh right, the constellation. Jon remembered reading bout them back in junior high.

He turned to Chase as he looked at her, noticing she was now looking at him. She seemed happy, but Jon hesitated, what if he was comign on too strong and she hated him. Maybe he shouldn't kiss her again that would be bad, and probaly should keep the heavier kissing until the tenth date. Yeah good idea

Chase turned her head to look at Jon, as if she wanted to know his input on the bear thing. Again, he probably did know what she meant by the bear, but still. Possibly a strange thing to mention at this point. Yeah, he probably did know about the bear, though.

At this point, though, he seemed deep in thought, as if something was worrying him. What was wrong? It couldn't have been her, could it? Hopefully, it wasn't. But, what if it was? What if... no, Chase, don't worry like that. Things go fine if you let them be that way.

But, something was bothering him, that was certain. But what?

Her mind went through possibilities. Dang dang dang....

Well, it was possibly one of those things where it was better to ask. It could be that he was just in thought, after all. But, still. Perhaps she could ask what was up. After all, it might be her problem, too!

Her voice taking on a concerned tone, she asked "Is... is something wrong?"

Please don't have anything bad happening right now, she thought to herself. But then she reminded herself what she had been telling herself all evening, for what was probably the hundredth time that night.

Jon frowned as he tried to think on what he should do, maybe he should just stay quiet. She would like that right. Apparently not, cause Chase seemed worried.

"Is... is something wrong?" Chase asked as Jon shook his head.

"No everything is fine" he said as he made up his mind, he would kiss her again. "Nothing can go wrong while you are here" he said before leaning into kiss her again, this time not parting as he waited for her to make the next move

Jon shook his head, as if nothing was wrong, and told her that it was such.

Well, that was a good thing. It wasn't as if anything too bad was happening. He seemed fine, and she seemed fine, so all was nice and dandy. Yes, everything was alright... alright... right? He said nothing could go wrong while she was here. That, of course, was a good sign. Chase didn't screw up too badly, judging by his comment.

Jon then confirmed that everything was alright... by, for the third time this evening, leaning forward and kissing her. Geez, he really did like her, huh? After all, he couldn't really keep his hands off her.

On one hand, it was still kind of awkward, especially since they were still on the ground. On the other hand, it... was nice.

Oh jesus, but what was she supposed to do? She had already been kissed twice before, and this time, she still had no clue on what to do. She was supposed to do something with her arms, wasn't she? But what? Was she supposed to hug him, or place her arms around his shoulders, or touch his face, or... gah! Being kissed was nice, but figuring out what to do exactly was the hard part! Why did everyone else seem less awkward when it came to this sort of thing? Chase had previously seen couples making out in the past, even in completely public areas, where they could easily be interrupted by, let's say, a teacher. They made this seem so easy... had they been doing it a lot? Probably. Seemed a lot like it, at least.

Well, there was only one solution, and it was to do what seemed natural. Chase closed her eyes and went along with the kiss as best as she possibly could, even with her... inexperience, to put it simply and quietly. Almost subconsciously, her right hand reached up to just below the top of his neck, and rested there.

God, this is what you're supposed to do, right? Let's just hope it is. If it wasn't, would Jon excuse her for not knowing any better? Would he? Well, let's find out...

Jon continued to kiss Chase as he put his own hands on her back. So this is what heaven was like, he thought, though the rock poking into his side was annoying, he moved until he was over Chase, though he tried his best to keep his crotch away from her, his pants had gotten a little tight, so to speak. Though he was sure, she felt it. Great, now she think he's a pervert. Jon broke away from the kiss as he leaned back and sat down, tossing the rock away. "Er.....sorry" he mumbled before looking around awkwardly.

"You want something to eat? or drink?" he asked as he pulled out a Coke for himself, "I have water, soda, some of that Brisk tea stuff." he said as he turned to the food. "And I have sandwhiches, and don't worry, I didn't bring anything from your job"

It was still going.

Chase felt Jon put his arms on her back, as the kiss continued. So, this was a perk of being in a relationship, huh? Again, awkward, but it felt nice to be hugged and kissed like this.

Suddenly, she now had Jon over her, as it went on. And, well, she could tell that he was... erm, very, very excited to see her, judging by the... budge in his pants, which she could now feel on her leg. Wait... what would this mean if it went on any further?

Before she could ponder that, Jon broke off the kiss, and lifted himself off. Oh, thank god, she thought as she opened her eyes. She wasn't sure what she would do if he wanted... you know. Hopefully he wasn't the type to use her only for his pleasure. Chase had heard of scumbags that would use a woman, then promptly drop her the second they were finished with her. It was a horrible thought, really. No person needed to treat someone who they claimed to love like that. But, hopefully Jon wasn't that type. She would be... well, heartbroken, actually. Heck, she probably wouldn't be in another relationship after that.

Chase felt her face turn a bright crimson as she lifted herself off the ground, placing herself on her knees as she sat up. At that moment, she realized she had been holding her breath, judging by the brief exhalation of air that followed. But still. She had been kissed multiple times. He wanted to be with her. That had to count for something, obviously.

Jon apologized, looking as awkward as she was. He probably realized that, er, Little Jon was acting up, huh? She couldn't really blame him. Well, she had to say something.

"I... er..."

But the words weren't coming out. Eventually, after a few attempts at speaking, she finally got them out.

"It's... it's alright."

And so, she gave him her best smile, in an attempt to show everything was alright. She wasn't mad at him, really.

Jon then pointed out that the food was still there. Oh, of course! A picnic wasn't, by definition, a makeout session, after all. Sure, it can involve making out, but the food needed to be eaten some time. So, time to dig in, huh? He also made a crack about her workplace, too. Well, she had to admit she hated her job, actually, so it was indeed good he didn't bring anything from it.

"Ah... thanks..." she said, crawling towards the cooler, and grabbing a can of Brisk for herself. She was normally fond of root beer, but she had never tried Brisk before. After grabbing the can, she walked over to the food, and grabbed two plastic wrapped sandwiches , one for Jon and one for herself. Crawling back to where Jon was, and trying her best not to ruin said sandwiches and Brisk while doing so, she plopped herself back down next to him. Chase then handed him one of the sandwiches.

"H-here. I got one for you", she mumbled, still feeling a little shy after that... little moment.

She looked up at the sky again. The bear was still up there, as if it had been watching them kiss. Of course, it also still looked more like a pan than anything. Chase remembered that some believed that the stars could tell the future. Heck, there were articles in magazines and online about horoscopes, where, based on your birthday, they could predict what could happen to you that month. To her, it sounded kind of silly. Yet, in a way, it sounded kind of interesting to think about.

Could stars really tell the future? What would they have to say about her and Jon? Heck, what would they have to say about her future, in general? Chase hoped that it would be a bright one. Then again, all people wished that the future would be a beautiful one. What was going to happen to her, no one really knew. All she knew was that she was going to turn 18 very soon, she was planning to get a teaching job, there was The Dark Knight going to be in futures very soon, soon she will graduate, soon she will go on the last trip with her classmates, and, of course, her future with Jon.

A smile formed on her face, as she thought about what the future could be like. All sorts of things could happen!

"Jon... what do you think about th-th-the future? As-as in, what do you expect to h-happen? After all, it's almost the end of senior year" she asked, as if in wonder.

Jon took the sandwhich from Chase with a small thanks as he unwrapped it from the covering and took a bite. He chewed and swallowed as he tried to sit in a way that wouldn't make his "friend" so obvious. Come on think of something, cold shower, naked old man, cold shower, naked old man.

He noticed Chase was starwatching again, guess this was a good place, he thought as Chase turned to him and asked him a question.

"Jon... what do you think about th-th-the future? As-as in, what do you expect to h-happen? After all, it's almost the end of senior year"

Jon put his arm around Chase as he grinned, "Well I hope my future involves me passing the test I have on Monday" he joked before sighing. "I honestly don't know, I mean we have the trip coming up, and then we graduate and it's off to college. All I know is right now in the present, I'm here with you, and that's good enough for me"
