Though Salem is generally not a place with very inexpensive housing, those looking for less costly places of residence go towards West Salem. There are several apartment buildings with availabilities from studios up to two or three bedroom apartments of varying levels of quality. Many apartment buildings have red brick exteriors and while some are traditional apartment buildings, some are bungalow style and even some are apartments above small businesses.

Katelyn froze up as Ren reached out to hand her the earplugs, briefly unsure what they were doing, only to realize just as quickly that they were giving them to her. She took them appreciatively, doing her best not to scratch Ren's hand with her faux-claws. She held the small cork earplugs gingerly, eyeing them as if they were going to jump out and run away at any moment.

She looked up at Kai when he spoke, silently watching him make his way over to the TV to turn it on, presumably to drown out the noise. She swallowed a lump in her throat, her frayed nerves beginning to soothe as her appreciation began to well up in her chest, spilling out the corners of her eyes. She couldn't help but feel like she didn't deserve friends like this. They weren't questioning her, and they weren't yelling at her for being too sensitive. They were just trying to help, without judgement.

She wiped the tears out of her eyes and put the earplugs in her ears, and grinning like an idiot at her friends.

When she next spoke, she was just a little too loud.
