Attention handlers:

Throughout the version and especially within the last month we have had a number of characters go terminal and their writers subsequently appeal. The majority of appeals have been granted but following this announcement, we will begin scrutinizing appeals more heavily than has been practiced during V8 thus far.

We hope to reduce the number of notices we send out and appeals to process by urging users to post in the away thread if you think you’ll be away. If you do not end up needing the away time, you can cancel the away status. If you are listed as away and find yourself being able to post quickly, it will not void the away. If you are unsure about committing to an away, even posting in the reduced activity thread can be helpful if staff need to look back during an appeal and corroborate the situation you cite as your reason for going inactive or missing your deadline. Using these official systems can help your appeal greatly.
