Re: Evolution is a Tinkerer

((Sarah Xu continued from Homework: Last Resort of the Bored )) ((Not sure, your post actually happens before mine, and they don't disagree with each other, so it should be fine.)) Sarah came flying into class not long after Dominic. Hearing the sprinting footsteps from outside, the teacher rolled h...

Re: Disaccharide

The Xu household somehow managed to be simultaneously undersized and monolithic. If they'd been living anywhere else but St Paul it would have been a squashed townhouse between a street of other, similarly squashed townhouses attached side to side. Luckily for them, and their neighbours, the city di...

Re: Disaccharide

As Reiko broke the silence Sarah found herself wondering the same thing. She hadn't really thought about it much. For her it wasn't such a big deal. Her family, maybe barring her brothers, knew she was a lesbian already and whether they'd figured it out or not she knew her friends wouldn't have much...

Re: Disaccharide

Sarah wasn't thinking clichéd expressions of love as they kissed. She wasn't thinking much at all actually. Though there were a few things in her mind. The first was thinking how it felt really really really really nice. Really. The second was that she should probably try her hardest not to forget w...

Re: Disaccharide

Sarah froze, suddenly finding herself looking straight into Reiko's eyes. She wanted nothing more right then than to take Reiko in her arms, hold onto her warmth and kiss her, forever if possible, but her action was halted by anxiety. The fact was, she'd never done it before, kissed someone that is,...

Disaccharide

The cold bracing her arms and legs kept Sarah more than aware of how she was dressed. The qi pao might have looked nice but it didn't do much to protect from St. Paul's air at night. The chill on her skin contrasting with the warmth of Reiko's hand and her general feeling of euphoria. They'd walked ...

Re: Debate Exposes Doubt

"Hey, Richard," "I have no idea where he is. He's supposed to be TAing the debate team, so I dunno why he wouldn't be here. Unless he just got sick of all of us or something." "Oh, thanks. Hmm, might be stuck in the staff..." someone barged past him, the hell? he looked...

Re: Debate Exposes Doubt

Richard Han strode down the corridor, a folder full of calculus papers under his arm. He didn't mind hanging around after a school for a while, as much as he liked being at home, with the kitchen and the chaos. This time he had an "appointment" with Mr. Kwong, hence the calculus papers. Kw...

Re: The Dance Must go on!

Sarah wiped little bits of Reiko's answer from her cheek. The second response went rather better for her, and she just listened as Reiko explained. The situation for Paige was unfortunate, sure, but she could understand Reiko's exasperation. In the end she just held Reiko's hand, not sure what to sa...

Re: The Dance Must go on!

As Vera said goodbye Sarah managed a "Bonne nuit!" and a wave. She really didn't remember any French, actually Bonne nuit was probably wrong, like saying good night or something, it should have been… what was the word… "Oh, Bonsoiagh!" Sarah slipped for half a second as her Reiko...

Re: The Dance Must go on!

Sarah listened intently as Vera recounted the story of her and Maxwell's meeting, smile stuck on her face. She found something incredibly amusing about Vera's delivery. She giggled as Vera drained her cup as if it was whisky or brandy or whatever people who drink drink when they're slightly exaspera...

Re: The Dance Must go on!

The "we ran into each other" comment threw a bottom-lip biting smile across Sarah's face. Understatement. Of. The. Century. "Yeah, kind of a hospitalisation sort of running into eachother" She leant her head against Reiko's. "Very romantic" It seemed as good an opportun...

Re: The Dance Must go on!

Sarah found Max's 'local population' remark a bit... smarmy. Maybe. But that was okay she guessed, Vera didn't seem to mind. She was almost a little disappointed that he was only 'a little disappointed' with the US, but the phrase 'laconic British understatement' jumped into her mind from somewhere....

Re: The Dance Must go on!

Sarah didn't notice Maxwell's momentary hesitance, and even if she had she'd have just put it down to the handshake maybe being a bit over-formal. As far as she could tell he was friendly and sincerely happy to meet them. Thankfully he was tolerant too, since he didn't seem to have taken offense whe...

Re: The Dance Must go on!

"Speak of the devil, here he comes now..." Devil indeed, well-dressed in a white tux, fit, classically handsome with soul-eating blue eyes and that air of superiority that came with a 'well-bred' individual. Really, the perfect prom-date for any discerning heterosexual female. Sarah hated ...
