Fall Into Neverland

Once upon a time, the quarry was the source of many products on the island. Now, the large, jagged rock formation stands as a monument to the life that once thrived on the island. A large portion of it has been cleared, and the face is climbable. There are lots of indentions along the face from dynamite blasts, and who knows? Maybe they'd be a good place to hide.

Fall Into Neverland

#1

((Continued from In God's House))

Andy Walker (Male Student no. 02) was exhausted.

It had been approximately twenty-four hours since Danya had declared the chapel a dangerzone. During the chaos that ensued, he had run away from the area, instinctively following Adam and Sean through the dense jungle and away from the impending danger. But, somewhere along the way, he had lost sight of the two boys.

Since then, he had been aimlessly wandering the island in search of them. Unfortunately, he hadn't found a soul... nobody alive, anyway. The cheerleader had made the mistake of venturing past the hospital, but he'd decided it was better to steer away from it after witnessing all the corpses of his former classmates outside.

He'd even headed to the swinging bridge, where he could have sworn he heard Adam say he was going, but by the time he arrived, it was nearly dark, and there was no sign of Adam, Sean, or anybody else. He'd spent most of the night at the bridge, somehow managing to avoid Nick Jones when he'd woken up from his gas-induced state.

Around four that morning, Andy had woken up and ventured off onto the island once again. Now, he found himself wandering toward the quarry in some vain hope that he'd run into Sean once again.

At least I'm not with that creep Matt. How could he have a crush on me? He doesn't even know me. What's even weirder is the fact that he was taking pictures of me. The guy was STALKING me for Christ sakes. How scary is that?

Andy shivered slightly as he thought about it. Honestly, it wasn't that he had anything against Matt as a person, but he had sealed his own fate at the chapel when he'd tossed the book full of pictures at Andy. It was so strange and surreal to think that throughout high school, one of his fellow classmates had been obsessed with him on such a level.

Andy normally didn't mind a little attention. He was a good looking guy, after all... although he could be described more as "pretty" than "handsome" but... Matt had taken it to a whole new level. An uncomfortable level, at that.

The blonde-headed student snapped out of his thoughts as he exited the jungle and found himself standing near the edge of a cliff. Andy's eyes moved around the area before moving down the cliff. A narrow path seemed to zigzag across the face of the cliff and below was what looked like a deep pond.

The face of the wall had lots of holes blasted into it, and it looked like it was easily scaleable even without using the path. He briefly wondered if it would be worth hiding in one of the holes along the face of the cliff... but if he did that, he might never find Sean.

A frown passed across Andy's features as he looked around. A light rustling from the bushes caused him to spin around in fear. His eyes widened drastically as he peered toward the shaking bushes and anticipated the gruesome attack to come.

Fortunately for Andy, it never did. Instead, a group of birds that had been resting in the bushes suddenly took to the skies, fluttering away from the area. A relieved sigh escaped Andy's lips as he watched them fly away. For a moment, he wished that he too could sprout wings and fly away from the island. Andy's eyes slowly moved up to the sky and he stood there in a daze for a moment.

That was when an earthshaking boom echoed out from somewhere nearby in the jungle.

Andy jumped visibly, stepping back a few steps as his attention immediately shot toward the direction from which the noise came. Unfortunately for Andy, his few steps back had been too many. He felt the rocks giving way underneath his feet, and within the next moment Andy felt himself falling backward.

Too startled to even scream, he flailed his arms in vain, simply freefalling down the face of the cliff. Hitting the water below wouldn't have killed him... at least, it wouldn't have if his skull hadn't come in contact with one of the ledges jutting out from the cliff. As his head impacted with the cold, hard rock, Andy's vision faded to black.

Seconds later, he hit the water below.
