Greetings, Friend Citizen, and welcome to Paranoia Mafia. What is Paranoia Mafia? I'm afraid that information is above your security clearance. You wouldn't want to have unauthorized access to classified information, would you? That would be treason, and treason is punishable by summary execution.

Also treason: being a mutant, or following those dirty communists Lennon and Marx.

Unfortunately, our little home here in Alpha Complex is absolutely overrun by mutant commie traitors. That's why we have to employ Troubleshooters like you to ferret them out. What's a Troubleshooter? Simple! A Troubleshooter finds trouble, then shoots it.

Tragically, while the all-seeing power of Friend Computer, the benevolent technological god who oversees every aspect of your existence (for your own good, naturally), is great, there are occasional little hiccups, and some Troubleshooters have, once or twice, turned out to themselves be commie mutant traitors. We have intelligence revealing that one or more of the members of your team(s) are just such vile blemishes on the face of our little utopia.

So, this is the sign-up for Paranoia Mafia. It's based off the roleplaying game Paranoia, but you don't need to know anything about Paranoia to participate and have fun. In fact, knowledge of Paranoia may be neutral or even detrimental to your enjoyment of the game, as expressing knowledge of Paranoia constitutes treason!

This game will be a little different from most mafias run thus far, which is to say it will be so bastard it could star in Game of Thrones. Unconventional roles, rules, and balancing are to be expected. Weird things happening are to be expected. I have a design that I think will make for a fun journey for the players despite (or, more precisely, because of) this, but I think everyone should know right off the bat that if you sign up this is gonna be a somewhat crazy ride and while I hope everyone will do their best to play to their win conditions this isn't gonna be a super duper incredibly serious and competitive game, and balancing and roles will be all over the place.

This game will not feature vanilla townies. It may (or may not) include all the other crazy stuff I normally eschew (lynchers, jesters, bombs). It can accommodate literally any number of players greater than one. Sign-ups will run for at least one week, but realistically may go a few days longer because of how my schedule syncs with the current date.

Bumpity bump! Right now we've got five which is totally enough to roll with. That said, there is some time for folks to sneak in still--ended up having some stuff eat up time unexpectedly this week and am about to be neck-deep in work for a few days.

Count me in! I've been looking forward to this one since it was announced.

As a heads up for anyone familiar with my play style, I probably going to be relatively lowkey this game - I'll still push reads and stuff, but my schedule's pretty crammed and I'm hoping to play a more relaxed game this time around anyway, regardless of alignment.

I feel like I need that disclaimer though, else I'll get lynched in a heartbeat. :p
