Reaching You

Here is where all threads set in the past belong. This is the place to post your characters' memories, good or bad, major or insignificant. Handlers may have one active memory thread at the same time as their normal active present-day thread. Memory one-shots are always acceptable.

Raina nodded. "Totally. I need to drop off these books before my spine gives out."

She fell into step with Alba again, pleased that they'd figured things out without making total fools of themselves. "And I'll catch you later in class, yeah?"
"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you."

"Agreed," Alba said. "My back's already starting to kill me."

They continued to walk down the hall. Alba looked up and noticed the room number that matched her first class.

"Oh, here's my room!" she declared.

She waved goodbye to Raina.

"Thanks for sticking with me," she called out. "See you later!"

Alba turned and entered her classroom. She knew this slight goof up was probably not going to represent her whole day. This was the start of high school, and she was pumped.

((Alba Reyes continued elsewhere))

"Yeah, see you!" Raina waved as Alba disappeared into her classroom.

She ended up being a little bit late to her first class after all, but she didn't really mind. Teachers weren't the only ones she needed to make a good first impression with today, after all, and she thought that this very first one had gone pretty well.

((Thread concluded.))
