boogie's playstyle looks like his town game, but i dont see that as being all that meaningful, given that his town game did a complete 180 a couple games ago;

For the late lynchers, I've already mentioned Cactus, Prim, boogie, and kami.

Paige is aggressive about the lynch in a way that feels unearned, which I'd normally scumread lightly for similar reasons to why i'm scumreading cactus. That said, pushing aggressively out of nowhere has been their modus operandi this game, and i've been leaning town on it so far. also, they're pursuing their approach to the game in a way that feels very internally consistent and thus strikes me as genuine scumhunting

MeS doesn't push aggressively for poly, which is nice. willingness to go for prim instead is less nice, but i can ascribe both town and scum motivations to that and i favor the town one by a little. i personally tend to feel antsy about changing my vote too easily when i'm scum.

poly's claim of having investigated MeS isn't necessarily true. could be that he investigated someone else, but claimed to have investigated MeS so as to avoid giving information to town that town don't already have. i wouldnt place bets either way--again, poly's claim came early enough that he couldve been trying to prevent himself from getting lynched, in which case he might just be telling the truth, but also late enough that he couldve just been trying to limit the amount of damage that will be caused by his lynching (in which case it's more likely that he's lying)

Personally, I suspect a lie here. MS had claimed the phase before, and it makes relatively little sense to me for scum to blow a PR-hunting night action double checking a claim by someone not on their team who was already in the hot seat (and, of course, if MS was part of their scum team they'd definitely not need to check him).

I'm v interested in how my push on poly was "unearned" since i spelled out clear reasoning on it that ended up being true before anyone else brought it up: the role poly claimed was one that isn't very useful to town but is a great investigative role to give scum, and I followed up on that first thing today by pointing out poly could have lied about his results. not fond of the half handed "oh this would be super scummy but it's not right now for reasons" logic that doesn't engage with specific play, it reads like crumbing to turn later when it's convenient.

I'm also not a fan of the cactus scum points or the kami townnull. The Kami townnull is full of WiFoM loops that i can't wrap my head around and if Goose and MW get big town points for pushing poly early why doesn't Cactus, who had his eye on Poly before most of us?

Gonna chime in with a note that, for a change, I actually feel really solidly good about Cactus' play thus far. He's tricky for me to read a lot of the time, but in this case his points of confusion have felt genuine rather than fabricated, and his going back to pull up old arguments rung of having actually believed those claims (there was, IMO, a slight mismatch of fervor of claim vs. fervor of reminder but it didn't read as scum posturing/credit-claiming to me at all).

To be honest with you guys, I did not really managed to follow Poly's lynch last time due to being busy and also due to not understanding his claims. So I have to read it again I suppose.

i'm inclined to think that this was not a gambit to get MeS townread, though, and the reason poly sounded overly certain was because he was in fact overly certain. occam's razor and all that. so i'm willing to take MeS as probably not mafia, though he could still be the SK

So it's a likely case of "Poly slipped up and accidentally revealed he knew MS wasn't maf because he was maf and thus knew who else was" in your opinion? Makes sense. Can't rule out anything else, of course, but I do like it as a possibility.

Okay so, like, my only immediate thought for today was to try and dig deeper into the reasons for people who got onto the poly train late, if at all.
