anyway personal feelings aside a vanilla townie for a mafia goon is a super positive exchange for us so i aint mad about it. we did good work yall

i am working on a post and also tired so forgive me if i dont do anything super productive tonight but id be looking at the people who were hesitant about voting for decoy or jumped on the train in the middle-late stages (i am Less suspect of gianni for hammering).

I'll try and contribute a thought or two tomorrow but I wanted to let everyone know that I'll be on away throughout the weekend thanks to a hockey tournament so I probably won't be posting a ton. So work was crazy and I was like "Oh yeah I'll just give it a day or so to calm down" and in there the deadline was posted and the game went turbo mode. My catch-up came post-Decoy-flip so was informed by that Work busy again with crazy stockpilers due to virus, so thoughts a bit clipped and unfocused. Please stand by.

The pushing for inactivity lynches and randomly hitting a goon with it looks pretty towny to me. In fact, I'm more inclined to give some cred for even the later joiners for a simple reason: the lynch with such a tight deadline and such a vague, semi-arbitrary nature would've been *incredibly* easy to push against, duck, or derail... yet a whole bunch of players came together to make it happen in record time. I know a lot of players hate stall-game on principle (hi, this is me) so it's no slam dunk, but I think being involved in this one is way more town-flavored than in, say, a later lynch where the defense actively sucked harder and there was a more involved case aimed at the target.

I specifically like MS and Jace, upon rereading--MS for going hard and Jace because if he was scum buddies with Decoy his play pattern makes absolutely no sense--as far as places to deflect fairly transparently go, your scum buddy is like the worst option. Fenris' analysis feels good to me but could be a cover--to be clear, I don't overly suspect it's a cover at this juncture, just I'm not giving them quite as much town cred as I otherwise might as it was a fairly easy/telegraphed opening for Decoy to wiggle free and almost flipped to Jace instead.

To be clear, that's a town-lean on Fenris but a softer one than MS and Jace get.

I'm also feeling vaguely good about Dodd (with the caveat that he's a pro sneak and good at killing everyone out of nowhere) because he was behind the inactive-cull plan but only ever actually tossed his vote on Decoy, and that on the early end. It's this sort of casual engagement with the plan that seems difficult to fake, and I don't get why--if he was faking--he'd only bother to do so when it was as bad as possible for scum. There were plenty of opportunities to tip the scale harder against Jace and he didn't.

Please note: all the above reads are for, like, Decoy-aligned scum. There could be a second team/an SK/a cult/whatever wacky nonsense sounded fun at play and they could be playing a legitimately towny scum-hunting game aimed at other factions. But that's a whole rabbit hole that may not be imminently useful to dig into, especially as we can surmise Decoy has allies and have only one kill overnight to go on.

my take on kills is that theres another nightkill that got blocked or not used if its a vig or non-compulsive sk. a 16-man game w/ only one nightkill would be Unusual especially since ricky's already said he doesnt want this game to take forever lmao. tho i guess with 5 day day/night cycles we'd still winnow down pretty fast with one kill a night if we were also lynching every day. i dunno setting ricky's comments aside completely i went with 2.5 nightkills for an 18-man game so 2 for a 16-man seems fair.

id sooner bet on it being Not a second faction primarily because those are a huge pain in the dick to balance, and also flavor-wise having staff broken up into two opposed factions is kinda Hm?

Slam's defense of decoy yesterday is kinda making him look townier to me, if that makes sense? like, i dunno if scum would do something that sus (in my experience scum usually make a point to look as non-scummy as possible (which is why i'm [eyes emoji @ fen]))
