SotF Board Mafia Game Thread!
IT'S HAPPENING
I've been fairly suspicious of Kermit all game just because he is the biggest wild card (stoned notwithstanding) and given how normal that is for him I think it'd be extremely easy for him to hide being mafia if he was, but there are certainly people I feel more strongly about. I've felt similarly about MS for reasons I pointed out in my jokevote during day one. But I mean, I can't lynch several people, only one. And in truth as time goes on I'm far more inclined to roll the way you guys generally are, not because of a bandwagon approach, but because your guys' analyses are far better than anything I could've come up with, and I am inclined toward them because they do match a lot of what I've seen.
That said, I don't want to jump on the bandwagon as readily as I did last time so like Cactus, I'm gonna FoS: Poly for the time being.
Still would be incredibly unsurprised if by the end Kermit turned out to be scummy tho. I don't want to split the vote, but I can't ignore the vibes yo

uhh, i'm not seeing anything besides toben giving a reason and everyone piling on, not that it's bad reasoning but it just seems people are going "yeah this works"MethodicalSlacker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 6:21 pm I've said it once and I'll say it again; the name of the game is communication.

Let's do a votecount, too.
Yugikun: 1 (Polybius)
Polybius: 6 (MW, Kermit, Fenris, Slam, MS, Zetsu)
14 alive means 8 to lynch.

It is true i would act like me kermit if i was scum, but it is also true that i would act like me kermit if i was town, since i am me kermit, and not some other frog or raccoon or wetland creature.
you people want onions fine here's an onion i guess
- Deamon's actually getting more townpoints from me for asking what the argument for killing poly is (i'm assuming he's asking literally anybody but toben), since when he asked, poly had 4 of the 8 votes needed for ~murder~ and none of them cept toben's really gave much reasoning (including mine sorry yall)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm fuck it ok here's like my brain vibes rn

something feels weird about this poly lunch, like if he doesn’t log on to defend himself soon we might as well policy lunch, but an alarming amount of people seem to be hopping on due to 1. following toben’s logic 2. wanting there to be any lunch tonight
i feel like i said my feelings but it was buried in a long post so give me a minute and ill do a Poly Deep Dive whch shouldnt be hard cause he doesnt have many posts :^)
"Well, Fenris, the King of Gossip. We meet again."
here i am!! its Deep Dive time. i was gonna copy every single poly post over but im going to skip the first three because 1 is just "role received", 2 is meme and 3 is expressing disbelief that yall remember old games (mood. i also dont know how yall remember old games. my memory goes back 10 minutes approximately)
anyways!
next post also isnt worth quoting ("God it took four tries to get that post through")
onto day 2
and that's literally It. four posts with any content and none of it makes me not go :|. so that is my reasoning for my vote!
i would like to take a closer look @ deamon if poly does flip scum tho. trying to subtly push attention elsewhere while still agreeing to be on the tail-end of a lynch vote on your scumbuddy is pretty classic scum play.
anyways!
this doesn't mean anything. "what we're doing right now is fine but also (vague concern)" doesnt qualify as any sorta commentary. its just "im here i swear Im Not The Lurker You Guys"Poly wrote: My thoughts on everyone:

I'm fine with policy lynching lurkers because fostering that environment might dissuade me from lurking, which I usually do.
It seems like the lurkiest one keeps changing though.

this was toward the middle-end of the second decoy push with no commentary at all in-between. super easy to just watch and wait as scum and jump on the lynch once it looks pretty inevitable.Poly wrote: I'm fine with eating Decoy tonight.
Vote: Decoy73

this is the first post of poly's that is trying to make any sort of a point and it is only to defend himself. plus he literally didn't post anything of any substance between "hm lynching lurkers is like fine i guess" and jumping on the second decoy bandwagon. like "i wouldve pushed the jace vote" rings a little hollow when we dont even have proof he was There for that entire conversation. could have just been offline for all we know and trying to leverage that as a defense. also this strikes me as kinda trying to take advantage of jace being widely seen as town?Polybius wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 11:33 pmIf I was scum I would've pushed the Jace vote when it was popular. Unless all three of us were scum, anyway.Polybius - Hopped on a bandwagon with momentum without much justification. Could easily be read as trying to cover their tracks by throwing Decoy under the bus.
this one involves some effort. i explained my reasoning for not really being suspect of yugi (tldr: defending decoy would have been bad scum play and i think yugi's played enough mafia to not do that if he's also scum) and more importantly it feels like an intentional distraction off of a potential deamon lynch. mind you while deamon still pings scum-leaning for me im not saying anyone defending him is automatically scummy themselves; rather trying to push in a totally different direction strikes me as misdirection rather than genuine "i dont understand this lynch", combined with admitting that he'll vote for deamon if things swing that way, hence not really having any courage in that conviction?Poly wrote: So the pace of this game is definitely going to effect gameplay a lot. Even now, we don't have much time left. That's part of why Yugi's objections to the Decoy lynch are off to me. In a usual mafia game the day 1 lynch is some BS random bandwagon- in a game like this, you figure it's even more likely to end up that way, since we have to decide on a name pretty quickly if we want the vote to go through. Even with that, though, I thought the Decoy vote had some pretty good logic by day 1 standards. So yeah, the objections remain suspicious to me.
Vote: Yugikun
I'm less sure about Deamon or the bandwagon against him. If he's who we end up on, I don't have many qualms about switching my vote to him, might provide good info if nothing else... but still, I don't really follow the case against him.

"Well, Fenris, the King of Gossip. We meet again."
Would still love to hear from Poly before I add my potential iron to the fire, but we are getting awfully close.
Dammit this is why I never speak up in these things, I always catch a bandwagon whenever I post anything that isn't a joke
a stirring defense

Okay all the quote posting tags confuse me and I'm low on time so I'm just gonna do my own thing.
The two arguments against me seem to be:
Also I was asleep during the first Decoy lynchtrain.

I was voicing my own suspicions instead of just going along with some random vote that happened to be popular. Y'know, scumhunting, which I thought was the point of this game. I tried to be nice and say that I'd still vote Deamon if it came down to it, because I didn't want to risk dividing the vote so badly it ended up as a no vote. But apparently saying I'll vote the most popular target if it came down to it means I'm trying to make sure nothing happens and nobody gets lynched? That makes no sense. He tried to take attention away from Deamon!
Yes I did, I made post 202 before it flipped back to Decoy, it just didn't go through until people had already started voting Decoy again. My attitude in the post was confessing I had no idea what to think about anyone but resigning myself to the fact that I might have to just vote for whoever they decided was the lurkiest by the end of the day. I voted Decoy after his defense post, because that's when it became clear there was actually something behind it instead of just random throwing votes around. He didn't say anything during the first Decoy lynch or Jace lynch, he only voted Decoy when it was settled!
