man this is an aggressive af push for some jokes and illiteracy
(non-shitposting opinion): honestly i feel like boogie and i have different metas on this. IMO if you don't want people to think you're scum you can't just try to get someone else lynched in your stead. You gotta make good-faith efforts to scumhunt.
the cardinal rule of mafia is to be cute and have fun :)
"Well, Fenris, the King of Gossip. We meet again."
you're only saying that because last time you were scum i caught your scummy ass lying about your night actions because your lies blatantly contradicted what was in the OP, Paige dearest
mind, boogie was the one who gave you a pass on not reading the rules correctly that time

i mean, you got away with it and won and honestly it was one of your finest mafia moments, you should be proud of it
well yeah you should be scumhunting normally but if other people are voting you, you need to offer something constructive to defend yourself with other than "im town"
anyways the flavor alien thing was a moonshot anyways I just wanted to put pressure on Jace, and after seeing the pressure I'm not swayed yet
like yeah he reads like a frustrated newbie and im sure the frustration is genuine but the frustration could easily be either town or scum flavor so im not gonna read into that

There we go, what I was waiting for!Zetsu wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 5:33 pm We have a little over 3 days left now, so I suppose it is time to get slightly more serious.
The slightest of raised eyebrows in MW's direction, for pushing the game in a more serious direction with his second post, and then immediately reverting to partaking in the shitposting. It's a lil' out of character for him, and that has me slightly uneasy.
I was doing the NAFT special in part because I wanted to see what if anything folks said and in part because I felt like the utility of getting truly serious while multiple members are actively impossible to read is, shall we say, limited.
That said, since everyone's PMed up and we're talking, time to do this!
Blizzard got good points in my book for taking a look at her PM and then asking a question that felt an awful lot like the sort of thing someone who looked at their role PM and went "Wait, I'm town but my flavor text is 'bloodsucking mutalisk', halp!" might say.
Jace got frowny points for being "HELLO FELLOW HUMANS!" before it was in fashion. There's this tendency for players who get a real juicy role and aren't super experienced with mafia to leave little subtle clues lying around so later they can go "Gotcha! I was hinting!" And in this case the precise nature of the hint reads... weirdly.
And Dodd pulls out exactly why here:
We caught the same thing out, but have divergent opinions on what it means re: Blizzard--I think specifically it actually speaks well to her because her confusion reads as genuine when unfamiliar with the lore and faced with a quirky setup.Cactus wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 11:54 pmI'm going to point a big FoS at Jace and Blizzard in this memest of times; both of them have indicated that they suspect people of being aliens.
Except that in this game; flavour-wise, XCOM is the scum (which is a very intriguing choice that I appreciate knowing the lore, Deamon).
So in this game, humans are the bad guys.
More to come as I read beyond Dodd's post.
I bid you all dark greetings!

I will say the big difference for me, the thing that got me on Jace's trail (putting aside how his claim/reactions go--will get into that later), is that he kicked in way earlier than everyone else and in a winkier way. Like, everyone else felt like they were to some extent in on the joke and engaging with it in the same way. But Jace's was more... I dunno, the tine was different.Emprexx Plush wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 2:18 am ironically Jace's defense that he's town is doing a lot more to convince me he's scum than anything the opposition is putting down. it's the sweaty oh shit i'm caught reaction we got out of both boogie and dodd that had me screaming from the afterlife last game. and since he's claiming townie I'm not super opposed to taking a flyer on him but all that being said I'm thinking Jace is probably more frustrated newbie than flustered scum and i'm very suspicious of boogie's push here, there were a lot of jokes being thrown around about humans/aliens and jace's don't look anymore suspicious to me than the others.
His explanation actually does make a lot of sense as to why... but I'm always obligated to side-eye an immediate flailing claim under limited pressure in the first phase, and to double side-eye that claim being VT, which I think we've pretty solidly established is a pretty safe role to whack just to be sure because of how easily faked it is.
I bid you all dark greetings!
yeah thats why the hot scum claim these days is 1x bulletproof
