Hm. That's tricky, because on the one hand it exonerates him of coaching... but on the other, the wacky hypothetical setup doesn't magically start making sense just because Jace was telling the truth. That leaves us with still presumably two troopers and one officer.
There is a play for Scum!Yugi to pile on with a legitimate Jace claim, but I don't really see what he gets from it, is the thing. Like, there's something to be said for dying on a hill defending a known innocent as scum, and in this case it'd make Yugi look pretty good... right up until some other VT gets whacked and flips something screwy like ADVENT Combat Telephone Operator or whatever and suddenly his claim blatantly sucks. It's trading a member of scum for a really bizarro play to kill a member of town... who was already on the menu anyways. And there's also that whole weird bait claim thing, which came out of nowhere and got quietly shoved back behind the sofa.
So, to try to commit a little more:
A Town flip on Jace changes little from a setup perspective--it's still very strange to have two flavors of VT with multiple roles on 'em. More than that, Yugi kinda sorta crumbed something with his role which could be an attempt to seed an alibi ("Oh uh did I say ADVENT Trooper because actually I was lying and I'm uh bloodsucking hydralisk 1x bulletproof"). It's not an awesome look for Yugi.
On the other hand, behavior wise? If Jace is town and Yugi's scum then Yugi's entire play is some of the most wacky, baffling, unfathomable stuff I've ever seen. I just do not get it.
UNLESS:
Yugi's some weird third party (tired and not gonna check right now but I'm pretty sure he's the one that keeps bringing this up--don't quote me on it except to remind me to double check tomorrow). There's no jester disclaimer in this game I guess, and while I stand by my "Ignore the possibility of jesters" policy there's a certain "Rattle claims cop and starts throwing out results at random" character about it.
Overall it'd make me feel somewhat better about Yugi but not settled by any means. I think. I put the probability as, let us say, pretty low that Jace is gonna flip Town at this stage.
Also I've been getting some bad vibes off Irina for a bit and figure I'll point those out now. She's been doing these sorta weird phrasings that I keep calling out and always has a decent explanation but they're felt... just shy of slips, and she's super interested in how scum's thinking this game which at least to me feels different (I say not having looked at last game to double check).
I bid you all dark greetings!

I think The Chosen are a weird zombie third party? I didn't play that DLC yet. They seem more likely to be a cult though, which would seem very unbalanced for this game.
I'm getting big bad vibes from how neutral Irina's play has been on the hot button topics while setting up suspicions for if they break the wrong way.

the first part is in reference to 5/7 being a meme number
the second part is in reference to me being annoying by insisting on having the same number of posts as paige, which i feel like might be a bad idea as it's inflating thread length and causing everyone to join me in losing their last vestiges of sanity BUT i am inordinately amused by this thing even though objectively it stopped being funny about 20 posts ago, so whoops

Ah sweet re: memes.
I have read like no SOTF today so I'm gonna do that for a bit and probably be chiming in tomorrow mostly (yay work). I look forward to 150 posts give or take.
That said, I'd like to step out for the evening with a suggestion: while Jace is pretty solidly locked in as my pick for today bar some seriously unanticipated developments, I do think it's worth spending a little time considering the quieter voices. I'd love it if we bop the Jace/Yugi/Irina trifecta and that's game, but if there's a misfire anywhere in there (or if there's a fourth member of scum, or if there's third party, or if...) it's likely worth also spending a little time mulling those who haven't been knee-deep in the muck of this particular quagmire. What are folks thoughts on them? Zetsu/Paige, any thoughts on my thoughts on MS? (Anyone else too, for that matter) Everyone, any other things we wanna look at? How's everyone feel about Boogie this game (picked on specifically as lord and master of the low profile scum)?

Jeez, fifty something posts and like, a lot of jokeposts because everyone's tired or is done with discussion for now. Seriously, discussions have been so fast, and it's forty pages on day TWO. So,
Also thoughts on the lower post characters? I mean, everyone's already covered me, but how about MS and General Goose? Blizz? No ideas on goose or MS tbh, but I do get a hunch light townread on Blizz
Literally what I was thinking worded better. I really should be a bit more transparent with my logic huh : P Anyways, if Jace flips town when he insists he does, Yugi has 'I have no idea where to align him actually' points since he's been claiming a fishy role, subtly defending him and not so subtly saying he's getting stuck on by Jace. It looks like very blatant scumbuddying for the both of the, but that's maybe the point (Is this what the whole WIFOM thing is about?). So if Jace flips town, and IS an Advent trooper, then Yugi gets a null read for me, but an itty bitty side eye for the flavour claim. Advent officer...advent trooper...another advent trooper? It's odd.

Irina read as scummy last game though and was town as town gets soooooooo I just have to assume that the game where Irina reads town, she's scum.
V8 Characters:
Hades Thompson: Scary on the outside, dying on the inside
Ruth Flanagan: Never talk to me or my brother or my brother or my brother or my brother ever again
Vladimir Tepes: Not a vampire, so invite him in

The day I read town AND investigate town is the day I kill you all as The Godfather ; )

I vaguely agree with your evaluation of MeS pending your flip (if ur scum then y'all could've definitely coordinated this pretty easily so he gets no townpoints if I find out youre scum, though I wouldnt say I'd be ironclad sure that he's scum if you're scum, either)
Boogie's...hard, lmao. That said, his scum game as of late has been notable less passive, and he's had a lot of success, so drifting towards a passive playstyle feels fairly WIFOM to me. Though being passive doesn't exactly bring many benefits to him if he's town, either, I can only see scum motivations for lurking. Then again, the lurking might not be motivated. Consider it all a big ol' shrug on that frorntt of analysis.
I have more boogie thoughts, but first, a question for him:
What's your read on Yugi?
