My main reference is less last game and more PMMM Mafia; last game I was for the most part unwilling to put in the effort to actually analyze her play since, y'know, I was jester. PMMM Mafia I was much more dialed in, and for the one day phase she was there (before I vigged her :D ) Irina looked opportunistic af.
I'll definitely go through later and dig in more (just lugged ~50 pounds of groceries a mile and focus is bbbaaadddd) but I honestly forgot PMMM mafia existed despite having apparently played it and not been instakilled. Looking back at the fallout it's coming back some but I wasn't really factoring it into stuff--I hopped straight from Paranoia to Board Mafia in my head.

I'm mad. I think at this point that we've probably got very few power roles straight off the bat, and I'm seriously starting to see pretty low chances of a town victory :/ Anyways, I'll be down for a massclaim if anyone agrees, considering that probably there isn't an investigative role left. I mean, something other then role cop AND watcher? So Slam, Paige and Jace are all innocents. I don't think this is a situation where you can swivel to yesterday's most suspicious person that's still alive, time to adjust my thoughts. Just from reading through today, I'm finding Goose's instant defense weird considering how he's been playing before.

Also, paranoia is an exception and it's probably really hard to get a past game iso from that, asides from maybe how everyone behaves as scum >_<

sounds like a good way for scum to make damn sure there isn't a single investigation role left

we should have a phase left, a mass claim seems hasty

Yeah, true. Also, scum would just lie, so doing it would be pointless so I see your point : P I would be fine with being lynched since I've said even in the first day that I haven't been into it, and also that I'm probably going to be used as the scapegoat until I get lynched at LyLo, but I seriously can't get lynched because reasons. And that scum team is at it's fullest. Say I'm town, when does MyLo or LyLo hit?

Also I can't offer a general defense because I post without thinking my words through so I literally have no way to justify then :/

If it was earlier in the game I'd policy vote based off of this and this alone. I also forgot that PMMM happened because I have goldfish brain (and it also was a pretty decently long time ago), I need to do an ISO of that to really refresh my memory, or something, but I've had a hard enough time following this game thread that I don't need anything else clogging it up.

But back to this quote, it's something I've seen in the last couple mafias from new and old players—the "You know how I talk, why is this considered scummy, it's not out of character, this is just how I do things" angle. The horse I'll beat until there's nothing but dust is the Mafia-is-a-game-about-communication horse. If the way you're communicating isn't working because it tells something you didn't mean to, then that's something you need to learn. Given just like, the fact that all communications here are text based for the most part, it can be weird to switch gears, but trust me, you kind of have to. The one thing I remember about PMMM mafia was that I tried to RP my flavorclaim. It went awful! It was bad communication. It might have been fun, but it brought in a whole thing about posting restrictions that complicated things a lot. But it was a useful experience, because through that I learned just how important communication is in this game.

Think of it like Baseball. Nobody gets far in Baseball holding the bat wrong, because it's "just how I hold it."

It's mildly interesting that you vote for Irina for suggesting a mass claim when Zetsu also suggested one several hours before.

Thanks MS. I've always tried to be as frank as I could with my posts and say everything I want without putting on an act or a role, but obviously, my frankness is suspicious as hell given the past few games. Probably because when I don't think words through, makes me sound passive and waffly because that's just how I am : P I'm probably going to try something else in the future, but anyways, yeah, still can't defend my last posts. :/

Also, boogie, isn't VT a good fakeclaim for scum that isn't bulletproof? Uhhhh, when is it a good time to claim when I'm in the hotseat?

VT isn't really a 'good' safeclaim

it's 'good' in the sense that it can't be contradicted, but they're broadly viewed as expendable (and if you get caught visiting someone, well, goodbye)

thing is in this context there's been enough weirdness with all the fukken vanilla townie claims that i wanna shift gears and try to find scum elsewhere. doesn't mean yugi and zetsu are confirmed okay, just that they seem less likely to be scum

Any lynch I push on Toben or Irina is a policy lynch at best and I can't really come up with reasoning beyond 'my gut doesn't like them'. But at the same time I don't think they're bad options to be looking at.

I remember at one point I wanted to see more from MS and I've gotten more but I can't make heads or tails of your last post at all.

Boogie pushing a vote on Irina for the reasons of suggesting a massclaim is kinda suspect especially with Yugi's response to it. I'm not sure how much I buy 'oh I missed that' but I miss shit a lot, but really want to assume people are following this more intently than me. Which leads me to my next point: I'm grasping for reads in this game HARD and I'm not coming up with much now; everybody's hitting like town or townnull and I'm in this weird overly charitable phase, and I understand being like this doesn't make me much use to town so I want to try and buckle down hard tomorrow morning to get SOMETHING of use (this is what happens when you ignore game all evening and then try to Mafia at 2 AM).

I'm gonna try to observe notable relationships/interactions with all the flips so far, especially folks that weren't in like, super obvious conflict (Jace comes to mind here). I don't think I'm gonna get anything by hindsight-scrutinizing Jace but like, shit, might be worth a shot to see who jumped on and when they jumped on.

In this game and beyond, not understanding what I'm doing is the most MS experience possible
