Appearance: Cyndi is an energetic woman of African and Latin descent. Standing 5'5" and weighing 143 pounds, she is of average height and weight. Her skin is very dark, with eyes and hair to match. She prefers to straighten her hair which is naturally curly, and gets it styled into a 'Fawcett flick'. Because of her rounded face, wide eyes, and chipper expression, she doesn't look much older than some of the students attending John Endecott Memorial despite being in her late 30s.

Mrs. Perez likes to wear large dangling earrings shaped like random things, often subtle nods towards her interests. A recurring pair she owns and wears often are golden serpents. She eschews dresses and skirts in favor of blouses or smocks over blue jeans. On girls' lacrosse away game days, she wears her coaching uniform in class so she doesn't have to change before getting on the bus.

Biography/Personality: Mrs. Perez is a friendly face in John Endecott Memorial's halls. Patient to a fault thanks to her training in teaching students with specialized needs, she nonetheless admits she's a little overworked and run ragged by the demands made by her workplace. She is the only teacher that handles the moderate-to-severe students and receives little support from her colleagues, some of whom misunderstand the fact that she teaches the smallest class as having to do the least work. On top of that, she also coaches girl's lacrosse out of a passion for the sport and a love for her school; an alumnus of John Endecott Memorial herself, Mrs. Perez can be easily distracted by pointing out pictures of herself on the team in old yearbooks and lining trophy cases.

Mrs. Perez enjoys a healthy and happy home life (as long as it isn't lacrosse season). She is married to Javier Perez, a chef working at a restaurant in Newton, and together the two of them have two sons of middle-school age, Marco and Jamal. She enjoys physical and athletic activities and is always trying to convince the co-workers she's friendlier with to take hikes, go cross-country skiing, or even take dips into the ocean with her— even in winter.
