Parisa "Pari" Shirazi

#1

Post by Sticks »

Name: Parisa “Pari” Neelam Shirazi
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Grade: 12th
School: John Endecott Memorial Academy
Hobbies and Interests: Petty crime, baking, cheerleading

Appearance: Pari is of average height at 5’6”, but due to her relatively lanky figure, weighing at around 115 lbs, she often comes off to onlookers as somewhat taller than she actually is. Both her arms and legs are relatively long relative to her height, giving the impression of someone who hasn’t filled out the entirety of her figure.

Pari has a triangle-shaped face with a prominent chin and large, downturned brown eyes, along with semi-prominent eye bags she tries to cover with makeup. Her nose is large with a prominent bridge, and her eyebrows are thick and well-maintained. Black and naturally curly, Pari’s hair falls to her mid-back when left loose. Her skin is a dark olive, thanks to her Iranian heritage and remains relatively clear thanks to a dedicated skincare regimen.

Pari’s regular makeup routine consists of mascara, eyeliner, and skin-toned blush on a day-to-day basis, although she has been known to add more to it if she’s feeling particularly up to it. Typically, she keeps her makeup light so as to draw attention to her clothes, which are brightly colored, casual - and often skirting the lines of school policy.

On the day of the abduction, Pari was wearing a bright yellow parka jacket over a purple v-neck t-shirt and a white undershirt. She was also wearing jeans and brown Uggs. She was wearing her hair in a messy ponytail, held in place by a yellow scrunchie. Another yellow scrunchie was on her right wrist, and she was wearing large yellow star-shaped earrings.

Biography: Parisa Neelam Shirazi was born on February 4, 2004 to Imran and Sharmila Shirazi in Salem, Massachusetts. Imran works as a general surgeon specializing in colonoscopy at North Shore Medical Center, while Sharmila works as a dentist. Both came from families that had fled Iran for America after the Iranian Revolution, and found each other within the relatively small Iranian community within the greater Boston area. Parisa is an only child.

Throughout her childhood, Pari was constantly surrounded by family friends. This was for two reasons: her parents wanted to make sure that she grew up familiar with Iranian culture and traditions, and their busy working hours meant they had to rely on others to take care of their daughter. As Imran and Sharmila had decided to wait until after they were finished with medical and dentistry school to have a child, Parisa was by far the youngest of the children within the group of family friends. This was a position that caused her some distress, but she relished it in terms of getting attention. A naturally social child, Pari had no qualms about being the center of attention, although she also displayed a tendency to try to prove that she was just as mature as the older children, often leading to brushes with injury.

To this day, Pari still sees those family friends as surrogate parental figures, especially considering that her parents’ hours haven’t eased up any as she grew older. Both Sharmila and Imran are relatively liberal as parents, mainly because they feel as though they are not around enough to be very exacting.

As Sharmila runs her own dentistry practice which runs primarily on appointment, however, she is generally able to spend more time with Pari than her husband. Most of this time is spent baking, a hobby Sharmila found calming due to the similarity of exacting nature with the precision needed in her work. Even now, they make it a point to have a mother-daughter baking session at least every other week. Even when not with her mother, Pari uses baking as a form of stress relief, and it is often the weeks before exams that friends and family are bombarded with an assortment of baked goods.

Throughout middle school, Pari found herself within the popular crowd, thanks to her social nature and her affluent upbringing allowing her access to the nicest clothes. Still eager to prove herself, she found herself often acting out in class, feeling that her friends appreciated it when she’d be defiant towards authority figures. The attention-seeking antics she’d developed as a child began to develop, moving to her making jokes about teachers in plain earshot or being outwardly disrespectful. While the attention she gained for doing such things was rewarding, the rush from taking such a risk was also a major part of why Pari continued doing it.

It was in her freshman year of high school that Pari recognized that acting out against teachers was more trouble than it was worth, after her parents ended up hearing about it. Instead, she began to escalate her behavior through adding graffiti to bathrooms, as well as occasionally cheating on tests and assignments. Although she made sure to keep mum about such behavior around people she thought would report her behavior, Pari found that her actions allowed her to continue building her reputation, while facing less overt repercussions.

As her friends continued maturing, Pari began to find that less and less of them were impressed with what she was doing, leading her to become even bolder in rule breaking. She began shoplifting from local convenience stores. To minimize the risk of getting caught, Pari makes sure to only shoplift small items, and to always have her wallet in hand so she can pretend it was just a mistake on her part. For now, she has managed to avoid any legal repercussions thanks to her methods.

To keep up with her social demands, and at her parents’ request that she find some sort of extracurricular, Pari has been part of the John Endecott cheerleading squad since freshman year. While the attention is the main factor for why she continues to be part of the squad, Pari enjoys the sense of camaraderie she feels with the rest of the squad, and tries to put her best foot forward in practice and during performances.

Considering her other parents' concerns, Pari tries to alleviate their worries in at least one area by being a strong student. Having always had a natural knack for learning, Pari is able to get good grades with relatively light amounts of study time, with her grades hovering around B+s to A-s. Her stronger subjects are those with more room for interpretation, such as English.

Around school, Pari flits around popularity, with her social stock having fallen somewhat as the years have progressed. A relatively decent chunk of her friendships are with underclassmen more impressed with her exploits, while her own peers see her as somewhat immature. While she wishes she had more solid ties with her classmates outside of the cheer squad, she’s generally social enough to get along with most of the grade.

Pari's relationship with her parents has remained relatively lukewarm. While Pari has never actually been caught by her parents in her acts of petty crime, they find her distance from them somewhat suspicious. Still, with them continuing to be quite busy with their own careers, they have never confronted her outright about this. Pari still remains closer with Sharmila due to their shared love of baking, while Imran mainly just asks Pari about her academics and is satisfied that she seems to be doing well. While not outright cold, conversations between father and daughter are often quite curt.

With decent grades, if not much in the way of extracurriculars, Pari has mainly applied to colleges on the West Coast, seeking freedom from her parents. They, for the most part, have taken such news well, hoping that being on her own will allow Pari to get a better handle on her future. While she is considering majoring in Economics if only because it seems like a general enough major, her plans for the future are quite vague.

Advantages: Due to her cheerleading, Pari is relatively physically fit. She is able to go about doing things discreetly. Her general sociability may allow her to make allies more easily.
Disadvantages: Pari has gained a reputation for being something of a rulebreaker - this has caused her perception at school to be quite divisive, and could turn others away from allying with her. Her risk-taking tendencies have the potential to land her in situations she is not prepared for. Somewhat immature, Pari has a tendency to try to prove herself in some fashion.

Hello! Pari is looking good but I have a few things to clear up.

- I'd recommend dressing Pari a bit more warmly as the trip is in winter and they are in New England.

- How does Pari feel about mom and dad nowadays? How do they feel about her? Has she ever gotten caught for any of her troublemaking?

That's about it. Let me know when you're ready for another look!

Changed Pari's outfit, and added some elaboration on her current relationship with her parents.
