Holiday Pause & backslash Staff Farewell

Post by Buko »

Attention, handlers.

As many of you know, the holiday season tends to be a time that bogs down SOTF activity, largely due to the presence of Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, New Year's, etc. This has often led to pretty substantial delays in deaths, announcements, and so forth, as many handlers go Away.

In light of this, and the success of the schedule changes made for V6 and V7, the staff team has decided to put forth the following holiday schedule:

The mid-month rolls for the next announcement will be postponed for a month until January 15th. The second announcement will be posted February 1st, and we should resume the regular schedule of rolls occurring every two weeks following that.

These changes will leave nobody slated for deaths during the weeks of Hanukkah/Christmas/New Year's, unless they have already run overdue. Atop of this we will be giving an amnesty on activity starting on December 19th and extending to January 1st, regular inactivity rules will not be enforced for the remainder of the year from the point of the 19th. Consider it our gift to you! Regular activity enforcement will resume on January 1st with everyone expected to have posted at least once by the 14th.

Effective today as well, backslash is retiring from the SOTF staff team in order to focus on work and real-life obligations. They have been a valued member of our team for several years, and we greatly appreciate all that they have done for the site during their time with us. We wish them the best with all their future endeavors and are happy to retain their talents as an RPer and handler for the remainder of V8.

And with that, happy holidays!

Hello all,

If you have been sent an inactivity warning prior to the start of the amnesty period on the 19th, this is not covered by the amnesty.

You must post within a week of your inactivity notice to avoid going terminally inactive.

For example, if you were sent an inactivity notice on December 14, you must post by the 21st.

Thank you all very much and have a good holiday break.
