Did your retail job put up their Christmas trees and decorations in August again?

Are you tired of listening to 24/7 Christmas songs in a violently capitalistic society that has control of a holiday that exploits humanity's interest in materialism?

Were you physically assaulted trying to get that new Xbox game by some crazed Karen who thinks the world is below them, so you had your eyeball scratched out, before you doused with pepper spray and set on fire?

Are you on the run for murdering some crazy woman related to the above question in a fit of homicidal rage?

Do you want to just listen to music of a certain theme, new and old?

Luckily, we have the solution to you!

SONG CONTEST #113 - SKATE OR DIE!!!

That's right! This contest's theme is dedicated to skateboarding and the skate punk culture that is embraced with music!

This isn't a contest where you do kickflips at the halfpipe, silly you! You are to submit songs that fit the skateboarding punk theme of this song contest.
That's why we need YOU! YES, YOU!

To join this contest to pay tribute to the skate gods who shaped our once rebellious generation!
Perhaps you want to go down memory lane and play some THUG 1 on your Playstation 2? Perhaps you want to get your groove on from watching old episodes of the X-Games with the Big Air? Perhaps you want to brush off some old zines? Or obviously, you want to do some skating tricks yourself and do that sick 50-50 grind down that railing, before you slam into incoming traffic while your fellow skater buddies help pay for your hospital bill.

Here are the additional rules for this song theme:
  • The most expected music to be submitted is within the punk genre. However, certain skate music can be out of the box, so keep that noted.
  • You are allowed to submit a song that has been in any skateboarding-related video games or other forms of media.
  • Covers sung in a skate punk style are allowed, however no reality show/competition covers are allowed as usual.

  • IMPORTANT: Please don't use anything we've used in a prior songtest (Master Songtest Sheet here).
  • Be nice about the songs, even if you don't like them. This isn't the actual Eurovision, the people submitting these songs are people too, not a conglomerate of hairstylists/lyricists/producers, people have feelings..
  • Songs will be randomly divided into 2 or 3 semifinals depending on turnout. If you're going to be absent at any point during the song contest (so basically over the next 2 weeks or so), let me know and I'll place you appropriately.
  • Listen to every song and give points to your top 10 favorites: 12 to your favorite, 10 to your second, 8 to your third, 7 to your fourth, and so on down to 1 point for your tenth favorite.
  • If your song is in a given round, you must vote that round or you'll be disqualified. If your song isn't in that round (or you aren't in the contest at all), your vote will be counted as a public vote, which counts for half points. If you're doing a public vote in chat, tag me in Discord so that I can find them.
  • Public votes will all count as half-votes.
  • The top songs will move on to the final; the number of top songs depends on the number of contestants. Repeat the process for the finals and we get a winner.
  • The winner gets to hold the next contest, or they can pass the job along to 2nd place if they don't want to. 2nd place can pass down to third, etc, until someone wants to host.
  • Each semifinal and the final will last for roughly three days, depending on turnout.
Remember to DM me on Discord or PM me on this site to submit your songs for the contest!

To avoid IRL concerns and issues, I will be merciful and have the official submission deadline by at December 9th, 12:00 PM PST.

Afterwards, voting will begin and will end on December 15th, 12:00 PM PST.
