Appearance: Mr. Johnson is a tall African-American man, who was once in good shape but is beginning to show the results of no longer working out. A gut is beginning to show underneath his polo shirts and tracksuits. His hair is kept shaved down and is typically covered by a baseball hat, while his eyes are typically hidden by sunglasses unless he’s addressing his players.

Biography/Personality: A stoic man, Kenneth Johnson was never expected to become a baseball player, only picking up a glove to play with friends during the summer months and school. But it was quickly discovered that he had a natural affinity for the game, although he held no attachment or passion for it. After being scouted for college he went undrafted in the MLB draft but was later signed as a prospect and spent years shuffling around the minors before eventually making his way to the Triple A with the Las Vegas Aviators. It was during this stint that Kenneth was eventually presented with a choice, he could take a demotion back down into the depths of the minors or he would be cut. Kenneth, not wanting to take a pay cut or uproot his family gave up the job he was doing purely because he was good at it and was cut from the Aviators.

Following this Kenneth’s wife suggested that he put his baseball knowledge to use coaching. Something he agreed to do for the paycheck. Mr. Johnson has been the full-time coach for Southwest Red Rock for roughly five years and despite possessing a disinterested demeanour has proven to be a good coach. His experience across nearly all levels of professional baseball means he has a lot of knowledge that he can impart to his players. Although he is extremely tight lipped with compliments, instead leaving that his assistants. There is a long running joke around the baseball team that Coach Johnson’s pre-game team talk is “you know what to do” and the way he appears to have had his day ruined whenever he has to appeal to the umpire on his players behalf. Despite this he is generally well liked as he is seen as knowledgeable by his players and doesn’t much care what they do outside of his team as long as they listen to him and the other coaches and produce on the field.
