V9 Pregame Opens Now

#1

Post by SOTF_Help »

Attention handlers:

V9 pregame is now open! As you get started, we'd like to provide a few reminders and resources.

As always, realism is important and should be kept in mind when designing characters and scenes. Problematically unrealistic characters will not be approved, and problematically unrealistic scenes may merit staff intervention up to and including being stricken from canon. Make sure that you familiarize yourself with the Character Acceptability rules before you submit.

As with previous versions, there will be two phases of character applications: one for pregame and one for the game proper. Approval for pregame does not guarantee approval for the main V9 game, and we may request additional edits to your character for the main game, including edits which contradict or change facts established during pregame.

We will be accepting character applications in staggered waves in order to allow adequate time for the critique process. Each handler may have only one character in the registration queue at a time, with new characters being ineligible for submission until the first is approved or withdrawn and the appropriate amount of time has passed for you to have multiple characters.

Fast links:

The schedule for pregame character submission waves can be found here.

And state of the world can be found here.

Information about the V9 school can be found here.

Handlers may only have a number of characters equal to half the number of weeks since pregame began. One character in the first and second weeks, two in the third and fourth, etc. Abandoned characters still count for the purposes of this cap, but permanently denied characters do not; this is to ensure that people do not repeatedly submit and abandon characters that they aren't completely sure about, thus tying up staff's time in critiquing characters who get dropped right away. Characters abandoned, withdrawn, or permanently denied during the critique process will not count against the maximum limit; only characters who are approved count towards the six.

We are allowing a maximum of six characters per handler in V9 pregame. Currently, the character cap for V9 is intended to be four characters per handler, as in V8.

As in V8, staff will NOT be allowing submissions of NPC profiles for additional teachers and the like without a very good case. There is a staff-created NPC roster for the school which handlers can use at will, with some exceptions, and the use of other side characters as necessary within individual scenes is allowed without need for staff approval.

As always, feel free to contact the staff with any questions you might have.

Have fun!
