Strength is Power

Oneshot. In the weight room.

The gym in Red Rock is a full facility rather than a single gym space. The gym itself has a full basketball court with bleachers on all four sides, along with a shallow domed ceiling, and can also be converted to host wrestling and gymnastics meets. The gym also has a full weight room that is free for student use throughout the week, although certain times are reserved for exclusive use by members of the school's various teams. There are full changing and showering facilities within the gym building itself. During the day, the gym is also freely open to students, who are allowed to make use of it for socializing during breaks, or to play pickup games.

Strength is Power

((Wade Colter— Pregame START))

Wade Colter weighed one hundred and ninety pounds. The weight on the pull down machine was thirty pounds heavier. It had him sweating now. Gritting his teeth while he yanked the bar down again.

One…

He’d done four sets of five already. He needed a fifth. It was a requirement for him or else he wouldn’t get anything out of it. No pain no gain. Strength is power.

Two…

Power is control.

Three…

Wade always had control.

Four…

Something was stalling. It felt like a thick cord of rope was tightening over his back. He wouldn’t stop. He wanted to shout from the effort but he wouldn’t do that either, not for the benefit of the people around him but because then he would have eyes on him. Unfriendly eyes and whose fault would that be? The guy who lost control, that’s who. So he kept his mouth shut tight and focused on the tensing vein in his temple instead.

Five!

He didn’t let the weight drop. There would be no loss of control as he eased down two hundred and thirty pounds. Like a baby. Treat it like a baby. There you go.

Wade got up from the machine. He could feel heat crawling over his body. He could feel every panting breath yank itself up his throat. He drank out of his water bottle and went to another machine.

He was strong. He was powerful. He was in control of himself.

That’s what he kept telling himself as he worked.

((Wade Colter continued in 15% or more or we're legally allowed to leave ))
