Theory: Friend computer original said that Vyse is team leader because they have the ability to post with orange, which is above red, and is probably the highest clearance level.

I got dinged for posting with green last time around, which I think had a consequence, but Vyse posted in orange and Friend Computer said nothing, so...

That means... probably nothing, but like. Logic? Yay.

I mean, we can totally trust Friend Computer that Vyse is team leader because why would Friend Computer ever lie to us? Maybe we should do as it says and defer to his judgment?

Also what was the consequence that you suffered Cactus? You mentioned you think you have one and then sorta just glossed over it. Mind expanding on that?

In what shouldn't be a shock to anyone if you know the flavour, each troubleshooter has a clone or clones to protect them from harm.

I lost one.

So either scum decided to try and nightkill me or friend computer decided to give me a zap, as I used green colour by mistake and was deemed treasonous, since I don't have clearance for green (as apparently no one does). Since treason is punishable by death, I figure someone decided to target me - or maybe it was a consequence of my colourful mishap. Hard to say.

v interesting. i wouldnt be surprised if that was a flavor punishment, especially since you didn't actually die.

for the record, the color clearances in paranoia start at Infrared and go Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Ultraviolet. by virtue of being troubleshooters we get to be Red rather than Infrared but yes, i would usually assume orange to be above our security clearance unless Vyse is an exception.

/shrug

Very possible? I dunno. There's a lot that's unclear.

I would think Vyse has to have orange clearance, since he's posted in orange and Friend Computer has let it go.

Unless someone else wants to try it to see what happens.

I’m loyal to friend computer so I’m not going to try and access levels that are outside of my jurisdiction.

But the fact that you’re willing to try and break the rules of friend computer?

Hmmmmmmm

I, Kermit Q. Frogdanovic, am a Communications Officer (not a communistications officer haHaAHHaAH). I'm functionally a tracker (i think that's what they're called idk im not gonna search it up UGH), meaning I can use my beep boop technology to choose one player to follow, and see which player they target with their nightactions.

Last night, I followed FILTHY BOURGEOISIE VYSEPRESIDENT. He targeted Cactus with his nightaction. Cactus got shot last night, ergo someone probably fuckin shot him. Vyse targeted Cactus last night. Unless someone else also targeted cactus, Vyse shot Cactus. I know Cactus losing a life wasn't a consequence of committing a treasonous act, because last dayphase he committed two of them - unvoting is also a treasonous act, as outlined in Friend Computer's helpful intro post. If doing treasonous acts caused Friend Computer to immediately shoot you, Cactus would be dead already.

Notice how Vyse is [eyes emoji] at everyone except Cactus (and to some extent fenris i guess). He's directing towards a lynch target who he doesn't know the remaining number of lives of, so that during the nightphase he can shoot someone who he knows has one life - eliminating two competitors (Cactus and the Lynchee). I think we all know the what deal with this game is, and that eliminating Vyse the sneaky supervillain man would be in all of our best interests (except those of whoever his teammate is, if they're still alive *coughcoughFenrisMaybecoughcoughcough*). I'd vote for Vyse if I hadn't already done that with my lazer-guided truth vote at the beginning of the day.

k im working atm so no long post but like big :eyes: here. i dont have a good reason to not trust kermit at this point

for the record Communications Officer is another canonical position, which probably doesn't mean anything.

its technically possible that all offenses against friend computer only count for one life lost at night even if there are multiples... is what i would say if you didnt have proof it was vyse already lmao.

hey friend computer i'm down to settle this if you are

Ok, this is actually interesting, because Kermit's case is provably and obviously false.

The thing is, if everyone has a clone, (can confirm I have one too, though I thought it was a leader thing. Apparently not.) Boogie was either shot twice last night or Strongman-killed. That means scum almost certainly targeted Boogie. Kermit does not claim I targeted Boogie, ergo I did not kill anyone. (The only way this is false is if Town had a Strongman kill, or there are three total killers. To those theories...all I can say is lol. Not realistic in a game this size.)

More than that, I didn't target Cactus last night at all. I literally had no action to do so that night phase even if I wanted.

This means that Kermit isn't just misplaying, he's lying. (Or there are Bastard mechanics at play, but...how does one reasonably account for that without throwing commonsense entirely by the wayside? I've touched on this before but Kermit is not a good Townread anyway.)

I can full-claim, but given how Kermit's case has a massive and obvious hole in it, I'm going to refrain from claiming unless I have to.

That said, between my already nullish-scum read Kermit's demonstrably false claim:
