Forrest's hand did a wavy little dance almost in his direction. Andy pretended that he was too busy examining the bananas to notice. After some mulling, he returned the first bunch of bananas that he had grabbed to the shelf and instead selected a bunch that had an even number.

"Just remember, we're only a few mistakes away from Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. Catch me in the camping aisle with a machete and a portable stove when that shit all goes down."

Bree spoke up, and her interjection pulled Andy's focus enough to make him realize that he'd been crumpling the grocery list further. So much for readability. "Oh yeah, I think I need onions too. Not roid onions, though. Drug testing for the sports teams, you know." He grinned, careless and lazy. Like it did much to deter him, or most other people who needed a little something to take the edge off now and then.

Oooohh that was a good reference. One of the most b-movie b-movies or she guessed it could have been a t-movie. Because y'know it was a movie about tomatoes. That killed people. It could be a parody and spoof all it wanted, but that title sold itself.

"Hey remember when we watched that..." Forrest trailed off as she realized they had moved on to talking about onions. That was good. It wasn't that the memory she had been about to bring up was bad. It was the opposite in fact...but it was an old memory, of an old version of her and Andy. Their faces foggy and their a hazy afterthought, the memory floating along the river of time, heading for the exit.

The stirring returned in her gut and coiled it's way up her body, it clung to her and even when she distracted herself with following Andy and Bree it remained there. A constant threat.

So she did what she always did.

Produce found itself loaded in her basket with purpose.

"Alright, I gotta go guys, seeya later!" She performed the act of smiling and waving. "Oh and come to our party! It's gonna be so sick."

She then turned around,

Threw her headphones on,

and left.

He remembered.

It made his chest twinge in a way that he wasn't used to, didn't fully understand and didn't really want to think about it, so he just waved and didn't call after Forrest when she slipped away. His face hurt and his hands were twitchy.

"Catch you 'round, BJ," Andy. "Oh- you definitely should check out the party, though. Mikki's been planning it for a long time."

He made his exit from the produce aisle with considerably less grace, bag of frozen beans still on his head and all, but that was just him.

Well.

That was a thing that had happened just now.

More roid onion jokes. And… Bree guessed that it was a reference to this B movie she only heard of but never actually watched?

Then Forrest started again, but trailed off as if lost in thought. Then, she left. Then Andy left.

And Bree just waved back. It was all she could really do.

“See you.”

Oh, that’s right, a party was coming up. At Forrest’s, by the sound of things? It was hard to miss all the flyers literally everywhere on campus. It didn’t precisely say what the occasion was, but a clue was given by the date.

Again, there was something… she guessed admirable, in a way? About how they just didn’t give a crap about anyone’s opinions. Whether the teachers would pick up on the reference, whether it would land them in trouble, or anything. Like, she didn’t approve entirely, but again, props for being so brazen about it.

Bree still wasn’t sure if she was going to show up. It was a Friday, right? So it wasn’t a school night. She wasn’t sure if it was worth… something. But at least it wouldn’t be a boring evening. Maybe she'd show up.

But for now, she had to get some shopping done.

Now, about those onions.
