Brendan realized that he was just making things worse between him and Jae and he knew that he should back off now. There was no point in trying to make things up to Jae if he didn't want to listen to him. Brendan was going to listen to Jae now and he was going to leave him alone. He didn't want to make Jae's temper get more worse than it was now. He still didn't want to leave the classroom as he had to continue with his own painting and he decided that he had to focus on his own work instead of someone else's. He did just want to help but if Jae didn't want his help, then he was going to back off and leave him alone. Brendan didn't want to cause more trouble between the both of them now.

"I'm still sorry about what happened, Jae..... I wish that I wasn't such a clumsy idiot...."

Brendan moved back to his stool and he sat down slowly, trying not to let Jae's words get his mood to sink any lower than it had already. He hated how he made himself an easy target for anyone to step all over. Mainly because Brendan had always believed that he deserved it. Ha, ha. He was feeling really pathetic right at that moment and he knew that he had to take his mind off of these negative feelings that he was feeling inside of him.

"This is so stupid...."

Brendan shook his head a little and he was trying to concentrate on his painting again. He didn't want to get distracted by Jae who was still swearing behind him quietly and he started to carefully paint some red over the rose in his painting. He still wanted to make this one his perfect painting so far. He wanted his family to be proud of him. Even if he knew that he could screw things up with other people around him.

Weh, weh, weh, I can't do anything right, pity me. Except cry about how unfair it all was, of course. Brendan obviously had that down to an art. And maybe Jae was mouthing mockingly along with Brendan's words, but frankly, he could be doing a lot worse to Brendan right now and wasn't, so he ought to be afforded that much. Their backs were to each other anyway, so it wasn't like Brendan was going to catch him in the act.

Jae kept his gaze pointedly averted away from Brendan as he moved back to his table and started packing his supplies back up. He wasn't going to be able to concentrate on his work when he was angry like this, and he definitely needed some more appealing company right now. He risked a glance at his canvas once he'd put the paints away and heaved an irritated sigh. It was salvageable, but it would take some extra work. Depending on how much time it took, he might need to cut down on the number of paintings he had planned.

Maybe he ought to base the subject of his next painting on Brendan. Then they could at least pretend it was possible to transform him into somebody worthwhile.

Jae picked his jacket up from where he'd slung it over the table and shrugged it on, zipping it all the way up to conceal his ruined shirt. He moved his canvas out of the way and shouldered his backpack, stalking out of the room without another word.

Game, set, match. Nature's favor.

Brendan heard Jae leaving the classroom and he stopped what he was doing, sighing softly. He was just finding it hard to concentrate now and he decided that he should leave as well. He could always do this another day. He couldn't stop thinking about what happened between him and Jae. He really had to do something to fix things between the both of them.

Brendan packed things up quickly and he left the classroom a little while later after Jae had gone. He was hoping to get an idea when he got home. He just wanted to be useful for someone. Just anyone. Well, he still needed to do a song for Rick and he wanted the bitter tension between him and Jae to disappear.
