Spike clapped.

"Good job, buddy!"

Spike grinned. "You're gonna do well on the basketball team."

“Hehe, thanks,” Lovell said as he picked the ball back up.

Dominiqua pet Joey to calm him down.

“Bet you can’t make that basket facing backwards,” she said.

Lovell passed the ball back to Spike.

“Ready for round two?,” asked Lovell.

Spike and Lovell continued their game, as Dominiqua gave Joey attention by scratching his head and back.

Spike managed to make a couple of lucky shots, while Lovell managed to maneuver around him and handily made more baskets. In the end, Lovell managed to win 4-2 baskets. Both boys were exhausted, but still were able to stand.

“Good game dude,” Lovell said as they shook hands.

“It’s getting late Lovell,” Dominiqua said, looking at her phone.

Dominiqua returned Joey’s leash to Spike.

“It’s been fun Spike,” she said, “See you in school, later. Bye Joey.”

Dominiqua waved to Spike and his dog as she and Lovell left the court, basketball in hand.
