The rest of the faculties at Southwest Red Rock High School have very similar classrooms, with the science faculty having labs instead of the regular classroom. All of these facilities have their own buildings that students walk between to get to class.

Wade had followed Beau over to the shade structure or whatever it was called, so, you know, prime position for that help he wanted. He flashed a thumbs up to Beau and moved in front of him, cupping his hands together as—

“Oh, shit…” Wade caught sight of someone just… eating so much shit by the actual classrooms. It made him shudder from how hard it was to keep from laughing at it, mainly because it was another of those “hey, I know that guy” moments. The guy in this case being Thomas Shaw— one of his friends— so Wade wasn’t exactly pleased with himself for almost laughing at the previously mentioned shit eating.

“Uh, let’s take a minute Beau,” Wade said, gesturing vaguely at Thomas’ direction. “I gotta… help with that.” Wade didn't wait for a response, he just started walking over to Thomas.

Beau could feel his determination rise even further when Wade came to help. Despite his size, he could conquer doing pull-ups on the structure with the power of teamwork. But just then, another student had made their appearance in an unfortunate matter. Both he and Wade looked over to see Thomas reeling from the pain.

"Is he okay?" Beaus asked, concerned. But as he looked over to Wade, he was already making his way to the other boy. Soon, Beau followed after him; he couldn't just leave an injured kid on the ground like that.

As Thomas lay facedown on the floor, he could feel many parts of his body in mild pain. Nothing too crazy, so Thomas slowly got up, ending in a crouched position, and started gathering everything that had fallen from his backpack. The sight of papers strewn out across the floor made it look as if a bomb had gone off. Thomas was grateful that at least there was no mud or puddles in sight, so his papers had not been damaged.

Thomas grabbed his first handful when he saw Wade and another kid walking over. "Oh hey, there!" Thomas yelled out, happy that there was oncoming help and annoyed nobody else was trying to help. He knew Wade by that awesome mustache, but who was the other kid, who seemed like Thomas could easily tower over?

"I tried a front flip... What'd you guys think?"

“Points for enthusiasm,” Wade said as he stooped down to help Thomas collect his stuff. “But I’d prefer if you didn’t try and break your neck in front of me, Thomas.”

Shit, was he being to corny? Was that the right word for this, or was Wade thinking of something else? Humourless? Hardass? Fuck off, just move on.

“Oh, hey, have you two met before?” Wade pointed to Beau. “Thomas, that’s Beau.” He pointed to Thomas next. “Beau, Thomas.”

"Well, A for effort!" Beau replied to Tomas, cheerfully.

Although it might've seemed like he was insulting him, Beau was being genuine. The front flip would've been perfect if they stuck the landing. As Wade introduced Thomas to him, Beau gave out a two-finger salute.

"Hello, hello!! It's nice to meet ya!"

Fortunately for both Wade and Beau, Thomas was just thankful for the help the two were offering and so Thomas wasn't trying to find a reason to dislike either of them.

After Beau was finished talking, Thomas chuckled, misjudging Beau as being sarcastic, and took the handful of papers in his hands and shoved them in his backpack. Then, he decided to stand up completely upright to face Beau, extending his hand for a handshake. Shoot, do people still do stuff like that? Ah well...

"Nice to meet you Beau, and thanks to both of you for trying to help." Thomas looked over to the rest of his classmates, "Unlike others..." Thomas looked down at his backpack, then back at Beau and Wade. "Well, since nothing seems to be happening, mind helping with..." Thomas gestured at the mess of papers.

Wade was already in the process of helping with the spillage, using his arm to sweep together some of the scattered papers. It was like the only thing he was focused on after introducing Thomas and Beau to each other, with the rest of the discussion turning into mush as it entered his brain.

Beau smiled as he took Thomas's had for a firm handshake. But as he mentioned the piles of papers lying around the floor, he wasted no time and helped organize them.

While doing so, Beau kept smiling to himself. "You should've come by earlier, I was about to do something epic!!"

After the handshake, Thomas crouched down and began helping with the other two. I guess people still shake hands when meeting... And Sara said I was an idiot for thinking that! Thomas laughed inwardly, he couldn't wait to tell his sister how wrong she was.

Thomas' thoughts were cut off when he heard Beau's declaration of planning something epic, and this time he actually chuckled, he could tell he was going to like this guy. He answered, "Sorry, I can't really help what time I'm late and when I fall." A beat passed until Thomas added, "Well, technically I do... But you get the point."

It wasn't a lot of papers, and it only took under a minute until all the papers were back in his backpack. As Thomas zipped up his backpack, he looked at Wade and Beau, "Thanks for the help! Now what was this epic thing you two were planning?"

‘Epic’ felt like overselling it but, honestly, whatever. Wade wasn’t going to be pooping any parties here, especially not when two of his friends were getting along off the rip. Thomas recovering so fast from nearly splitting his head open on the ground (Not gonna linger on that image too much) was about as good a reason for hyperbole as any, if you asked Wade.

“He was gonna do pull ups on…” He turned leisurely to point at the concrete shade structure. “Whatever that thing’s called.”

Wade straightened up, clamping his mouth shut since it was at that moment he suddenly remembered that his legs were, again, sore like a waxed asshole (bleached asshole?). He huffed out a breath before continuing.

“We figured there was time considering how late the teacher is.” He looked to the crowd of other students. Still there. He shrugged when his attention was back on Beau and Thomas.
