...y'know if someone had gone to me saying 'hey yugi if ur not down with this inactive lynch why don't YOU come up with a better one' I would've actually suggested Jace — there was something in his joke vote (particularly in his wording and how he responded to what I think is a pretty common SotF meme — struck me as very much trying too hard to make the vote come off as jokey) that hackled me up. I'm vaguely down now, but won't vote until later.

......................man is me having thoughts and then other people saying those same thoughts before i do just gonna be like, a thing this game

okay so re: what yugi said about maybe side-eyeing people who resisted exiting the meme phase of posting as far as i can tell thats just paige and ms, and paige does this every single game so i dont think it can really be held up as indicative of anything and ms just did a Game Thing (before u pointed out that not doing so was maybe suspect) so i dont really think i can be mad at him bout that either

as far as people who haven't Explicitly said stuff to that effect, and only taking into account page 5 onward bc the beginning was pure memes from everyone, deamon, slam and poly have posted in that time w/ no real content. deamon w/ a joke post about not wanting to put in effort which is a relatable mood but if i wanna tryhard about this i could read that as suspicious re: trying to subtly steer us away from serious conversation at a point where its starting to take place? slam and poly's posts are earlier and so ping me as less questionable

Oh hey Decoy's alive. I've got eyes on them for a whole nother reason now since that sudden finger was pretty weird, but I guess we force Jace out of hiding now

VOTE: JACE

I think inactives in general aren't great for anyone, although it's worse for town then for scum obviously :P, but at the same time, I feel like policy lynches aren't great since it allows active scum to get away while they waste a lynch someone.

But then again, as there's no inactivity rules, I'm all for lynching the quiet ones here

With no inactivity rules we’ll have to pressure lurkers everyday because SOTF scum meta is either confident talkers running discussions or literally just lurking all game re: anyone who is antsy about potentially lynching lurkers

umm

FoS: Fenris

Lynching someone for not posting much in day one with the justification of either pressuring inactives or just killing some for the sake of getting some info out of day one seems really reckless. The gusto with which Fen is leading the narrative while doing so makes me sideeye.

Gonna need to FoS like half the game at this point then my guy

Will swap votes when I'm not stumbling around before work but with no inactivity rules i'm p fine pruning lurkers

I disagree with Slam's analysis, I think pressurising lurkers - and if no alternative exists taking a policy lynch - is a good call. Decoy was admittedly an arbitrarily chosen target but like, it's not being pushed

My earlier reservations about Decoy's response to the inactivity vote still stand. However, since he's no longer the most inactive person, my policy stance does shift elsewhere.

Unvote

Vote: Jace

I'm hard side-eyeing Slam for that comment. Activity is the only information of any kind that we have on day one. Any lynch is better than no lynch on day one, just so there can be more information for day two. This move isn't "reckless," it's basic game strategy.

FOS: Slam, Decoy

Re: Yugi w/r/t this comment
Yugi wrote:Rather quick turnaround to suddenly caring about day 1, MS.
It's less that I was taking a hard stance of giving zero shits altogether, and more that I was testing the waters with a more lassiez-faire approach. That immediately changed when the activity mechanics were clarified, as that turned an effectively zero-info situation into one more amenable to a lynch, albeit a policy one.

a policy lynch is better than a no-lynch after all...unless you hit a bomb, then it sucks ass
