The day passed. The anger, the fear, the sorrow in the crowd did not coalesce into an unstoppable rage, did not select a target, did not make assumptions but did not find the culprit, either. The crowd chose to wait. To choose its battles wisely. It dispersed for the night, its members returning to their homes, to their own battles, quiet in the knowledge that perhaps they might not all make it back, come the morning.

The battle begun. The pieces in place.

What would await, when the sun rose?

The day has ended with no lynch. This thread is now closed.

Night phase will last for three days, ending on Monday, August 26th at 6 PM EST. If you have a night action, please report your target during that time, or report no target if you do not wish to use your action. This is the first phase where inactivity will be counted; if you have a night action and do not report during the night, you will receive one strike for inactivity.

See you all on the other side.

Precisely 26 hours and 35 minutes remain in the night. Several people have not yet returned their night actions; please ensure you return them promptly.

Important note: Ruggahissy has dropped out of the game. Her role has been taken by Zetsu. Any and all night actions involving Rugga/Zetsu's role will go on as normal.

The night was long. Most of the city's magical girls chose to sequester themselves, hiding in their rooms, in their beds, choosing to abandon their usual nightly hunt for witches to prioritize their own safety. Their opponent, after all, could not find them in their beds, at home, in the real world so separate from that of magic and murder. But the fear was impossible to escape, for most, and none slept soundly despite their attempts.

A few brave souls attempted to keep to their schedules, however. Some out of a sense of duty, some out of a need to keep to a routine, some hoping to find the truth for themselves. Some daring the killer to come and find them.

No one can know for sure what
YACHIYO NANAMI's motivation was for going out that night. After all, she preferred to work alone.

The discovery of her corpse was a sobering moment for the magical girls of the city. Yachiyo was the oldest and most experienced among them. Her death proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that not one of them was safe.

They were afraid.

Would that fear lead to their salvation?

DEAD:

YACHIYO NANAMI - VANILLA TOWNIE (Irina Ivanov)

Day 2 begins now and will run until Sunday, September 1st at 6 PM EST or until a vote to lynch is reached.

17 alive means 9 to lynch. The search for answers begins.

Assuming that's true, it means that we've got at least two killing factions at work here, since Irina also got hit.

What I'm curious about now is whether MS is actually telling the truth about being a Vanilla Townie, since that seems a lot less likely now that we've got one death out in the open. Thoughts?

I agree with Boogiewoogie. We should expect a few others. Though, we shouldn't take it for granted. O:

Though, there might be a few transformative roles because of the source material? Like, a few Judases or something.

I believe multiple killers and that boogie was BP. I'm curious tho boogs, do you think you were popped by town or scum?

probably town

i still stand by my opinion that derailing the MeS lynch is a good move, but there were a lotta people making :/ faces at me for that, and idk what motive scum would have for trying to take me out right then

Tentative boogie townpoints if he's telling a story I think he's telling the most town leaning version of it

I can believe there's a vigilante. As you said, nobody's going to suspect MS if you got bumped off since it'd be pretty obviously a frameup, so it was probably town-motivated.

I'm pretty sure it's not Cactus. He was putting himself front and center, and I'm not sure that's what a power role would do. Other than that, not sure.

I would be shocked if there wasn't a vigilante in this set up magical girls fight each other almost or more than they fight witches, usually with strong personal reasons.
