As the blood gushed out, Cillian ran his fingers through it. It was warm, and mixrd with the top part of Ash's brain. His index finger traced a line on the bridge of the boy's nose with the blood. His mutilated body was nothing more than dead meat growing cold. But the shield, the thing on the boy's chest hidden under the shirt... Cillian wanted that.
It fit funny on over his shirt, as he tried to put it on... maybe it was hidden for a reason.
He took off his shirt and tried again. Perfect. He looked quite a bit bulkier, but it felt familiar to him....
The walk back from the shore was peaceful, his eyes wandering around the scenery. Haddy wasn't bothering him much any more.
