@Jace: Okay, but now that Dodd is dead (and Town) and Fenris is also dead (and Town), how does that ripple through things and change your reads now? It provides a lot of context and threads to pull at.

I'll note that my suspicions are still there and nice and strong--the shift in tone is weird to me, the general vibe of giving up is weird to me... we went from "I'm dumping every piece of info I can to help town!" to "Whoops, game over." There's a lot of good you can do on the way out as a townie, and you're not the evening meal until the final vote is cast.

When I play scum, I'm perfectly willing to take big pushes against players who I feel like I would have every justification to scumread were I town, to be fair.

@Jace

Yeah, I just checked your effortpost. The only reads in there that seem to be affected by a Dodd flip, or that you say are affected by a Dodd flip, are Goose and Slam. You also bring him up in discussion of Paige and Ricky, but only to say that your reads on them aren't really affected by a Dodd flip. Honestly, this kind of thing makes me inclined to mitigate your scum factor a little bit.

But in any case, that's only two reads that you have to junk. That's not tossing all your reads out the window. Or is it? Do explain.

the human gun is a gun for humans, in the sense that to serve man is a cookbook for humans

is that a gun made by humans, a gun made for killing humans, or a gun that's composed of human flesh (or, idk, a whole-ass human. I know nothing of the lore)?

Only one death tonight means I'm guessing no vig (the vig kill for tonight is too obvious for vig to withhold the kill, I think. A roleblock, Jace being bulletproof scum, or a scum doctor would prevent the kill, I suppose).

A serial killer or w/e isn't terribly likely, but it's somewhat possible. That kill could've got blocked/protected, or the SK could've decided to withhold the shot.

A small game size is a point against both of those roles, anyways.

@boogie thanks for the clarification, that's really helpful for me

Ah, right, that's also a possibility. But I want to do an isolated read of Jace's posts to mull over which reason is more likely. He did post a whole lot about "my reasons are because I'm enthusiastic town and want to be right!" which strikes me as a little odd? I could be misremembering how often it was said though. But that's what isos are for :P

I just expected a dogpile and was demotivated from putting as much effort in as I did before, that's all. Fair points all around. I'm not dead yet, so here.

It affects the suspicion I had about paige because I townread her for pushing Scum!Cactus like me before I was revealed to be wrong. She is iirc the only person besides me who voted him before it became a discussion of policy lynch.

It affects my read of Slam because I suspected his defense of Dodd and then his heelturn when it became an issue of just getting his spot out of the way would've looked scummy if Dodd was scum. Because of this it also affects the tiny tiny bit of read I had on Blizzard because like I said, Blizzard sort of rode with Slam a bit when it came to lynching me even if there was no vote cast. I'm hesitant to townread anybody based on their actions so I consider my self more at square one.

Ricky is slightly affected because he was one of the view that lynched Dodd's spot for reasons of suspicion not policy.

I also mentioned Dodd in my one-sentence look at gianni, but that was a reach to begin with, so it's basically from like 1% sus to 0% sus for now.

I'd like to wait til later in this round if it lasts as long as the first day did, to do isos again because there hasn't been many more posts of substance since then, so this is what I got. The rest of my reads in the previous post that don't mention Dodd are more or less the same now as they were when I posted them.

To be fair I did say it alot. There's a reason I'm not shifting reasonings when I know the ones I have aren't working. It's because I'm telling the truth. and lying as town bc my true reasonings are under suspicion is just gonna get me lynched faster so I don't see the use.

I just came across the post where Zetsu said that if Dodd flipped town, he'd scumread/thirdpartyread Slam- on that note, Zetsu, is it too early to get reads from you in light of all this?

Triple post my bad y'all I just wanted to add to the conversation and these additions are spaced out in my head so it doesn't occur to me closely enough in time to put them all into the same post.

I'd just like to add that looking back on my read list and taking out the stuff that's affected by Dodd's town flip, the only two people I see enough to suspect right now are Irina (for reasons I pointed out in my previous post as well as her subtle town-claim at the very end of the day phase that I responded to).

Toben for the same reason as he seems to look sus in every game. Bc he's very good at making himself an authority figure by virtue of being the biggest effortposter and strongest reader, and I see alot of people ride his thoughts and hear talk of him being a master at this game, so these would all be solid scum plays to keep suspicion off. Like I said before tho, he doesn't seem to know if I'm town or not, which could be an intentional look, or could be genuine. But it affords him a few town points I think.
