Well, hate to admit it, but Cactus is looking pretty damn town if Deamon is scum.

I was actually starting to get slightly suspicious of Paige last night--they were hard defending Deamon and kinda pushing for going for either Riki or Grim instead. As other people were saying, might be scum tilting their hand. Paige's scumreads last phase were me, Grim, and Riki.

Crumbing a lack of power move feels vaguely anti-town, in that if Grim were town it lets scum know that he's not really worth killing, and if he's scum it gives him an excuse for not having been targeted yet.

@grim: There was a vig. A non-consecutive night vig. The vig was me. I was the vig. Old version of me got NK'd night 2. I'm not allowed to say anything more on the subject. (That said, the fact that there's been multiple kills after the death of vig means that multiple scum factions are almost certainly in play, barring the existence of, like, both a JOAT and a universal backup, which I find highkey unlikely).

However, there's parts of his game that do look like his (extremely paranoid, checking every remote possibility) town game *cough* mass effect mafia *cough*. He's also been notifying us about his process in a way that feels fairly weird from a scum perspective. Also it'd be really weird if he was scumbuddies with Deamon; he starts like a half-hearted defense of him and then doesn't actually follow up on it. That's a move that doesn't really help Deamon all that much while also looking bad for him if he's scum.

Riki's been a little more straightforwardly scummy--tries to look helpful every now and then, but hardcore skating by while contributing just enough to avoid getting inactive'd every day phase.

oh i forgot paige also had their finger pointed at Kami slightly but I think the Deamon flip pretty much clears her insofar as Paige was mainly suspicious of Kami for pushing Deamon

(I am in fact townreading Kami, tho. not like 100% certain, especially with 2 scum factions in play, but she looks pretty town to me)

Funnily enough, I am actually trying to be very aggressive generally when playing mafia. I felt as not being so was what made it so unenjoyable in the past. But of course, Reads. Is there a way to isolate posts by user or am I put of luck here?

Primrosette: MW had made an interesting point about Prim, actually. He called her flunky, but gave her town points for being the distraction target for Poly. He mentioned, however, that this trust would go down in a multiball game. Now that we have two kills in a night and our town vig is dead, I think the probability of there being two factions or a serial killer is very high. I find her non-commital attitude suspicious enough to raise my eyebrows.

Jilly: According to the first post, still alive and in the game. I have not noticed that, their last post being from August. Dunno what to think of it.

BlizzardeyeWonder: Had called my attack on Blast and his reaction as two towns being frustrated. In hindsight, a correct assessment. It wouldn't have made much sense for a scum to play this angle, so I think they are town.

boogie yea i think solid town. went for Poly and Deamon in a way that doesn't read like backstabbing. of course, multiball chance exists and all but at this point i sincerely don't think it's boogie just by guts alone.

Cactus I found it curious that he voted Poly by going "well i had a bad feeling back then already" when he never mentioned it as far as i can see. An attempt of a subtle re-framing? I am unsure but it's a thought I have

Kami: Consistently on Deamon's tail, also in a way that makes me thing they are town. But you know, my feelings have been quite wrong before this game.

Grim To be honest, I have no idea how to feel about them. Yet?

my question here is that if there is a second scum faction, what does that mean for how many people would have started in each? There's no differentiation between colours in the flavour so it leads me to believe it's probably one and then a sk or wayward vig?

I still believe prim is suspicious to be but the lack of Jilly is also hmm-worthy.

Also, a mod note for clarity: Jilly is considered inactive as of this phase. Due to the stage of the game we've reached I feel weird about getting another substitution, so if he doesn't check in before the end of the phase he will be modkilled.

I don't think there's another vig in this game, unless fen decided to do A Thing where there are two non-consecutive vigs who shoot on alternating days but yeeeeah that seems unlikely. My money is definitely on an SK.

Here are a couple of thoughts I have reading through two people.

Prim was another one of the people I thought of as scummy, but in hindsight (going through posts), for the MS train they said they were acting on the same thing basically everybody else said they were, basically "vt is a scummy claim (or disposable) and/or we need a lynch", so it doesn't give Prim town or scum points. Though, voting for blast is suspicious in hindsight- though they did later get on the Poly train, after they claimed, for the same reasons everybody post-claim did. All in all, a lot of blending in. Could be scum, the poly thing might have been a bus moment, but I'm not confident about it and condemning Prim for blending in and not being all that notable with their takes would make me a hypocrite.

Then there's boogie. Going through posts again, they got off the MeS train for reasons that would only be scummy if Boogie and MeS were scum together, which I find pretty unlikely, but really it depends on how or if MeS flips. Thinking back on it, now that we know more about this game's structure, I can definitely believe boogie's earlier claim about being a one-time bulletproof. Would explain why there wasn't a second kill the night they said they were hit. Seems to be focused on pushing discussion along, which is good to see.

I'm unconvinced by the reads. I agree with them, for the most part, but they're cheap and sheepy. Also, he's started trains on people who are vulnerable to getting lynched but who I personally read as town, so...not that my townreads are infallible, but Blast did turn out to be town. The doubling down on Blast felt weird and looks especially bad since it meant staying off the Poly lynch.

If Prim flips town sometime and Riki isn't lynched yet, that'll strengthen my read. If she's scum, he looks much better. That said, I'd like for him to be lynched today.

We do need a lynch, yes, and so far there's been two things put forward and not much time at all to put forward a third option. I've said what I wanted to say about Riki earlier and he didn't really acknowledge it apart from a really eyeroll worthy bUt i'M bEiNg aGgReSsIvE gUyS and I just, alright. Prim doesn't make sense as an option for me at this point but these day phases have so fucking little going on that it's hard to get anything out of anybody. Nobody's made any meaningful role claims that weren't immediately debunked due to a flip. Town has jack shit. Riki is who I feel is the most scum out of those alive so far.
