For y'all saying this seems like typical slam stubbornness I would encourage to look not just at his ISO this game but last game especially his day two play. Show me anything that looks like this in this game. Show me anything that looks like the lead chasing he does last game. Slam can be stubborn and he can be slow to commit but I think how ethereal he's being this time around contrasts starkly with his active town play last game. He was way quicker to commit, way quicker to ISO, way quicker to do his own kind of detailed analysis, and when you compare it to this game it looks very, very fishy to me. I would buy that the faster pace has made it harder to be active, but he already has more posts in this game than he did in the last so he's picked up his activity to match. Despite all his claims that he's just waiting for the game to slow down, Slam is present but in a way that doesn't throw his weight beyond anything in particular in a way he can't walk back; he only came in on Cactus after I made the argument that he was a better policy lynch, and he's still on Jace for similar reasons, so if he flips town he can just shrug and say he was going for information, not suspicion.
Slam himself characterized scum tells as overly cautious. He clearly wants to promote the image that his play doesn't fall under that label, but I think a side by side comparison makes it pretty obvious.

A-are we finally moving some of the conversation past Jace, that's fine with me. Idk what to say about Slam, asides from uhhhh, yeah, doing the same thing as me and saying "He's town but we'll policy lynch" sounds really sus, even though he basically did the same thing last game as town. Also, WIFOM stuff going on with Slam's defense, because to me, I think sitting back and wayching it unfold seems more like something that'll bite scum in the butt later on, and like, posting something mediocre is better then nothing.
Also will agree, Slam's has been basically contributing a lot less, and his slowing down reasoning, while agreeable, doesn't excuse the fact that he's was doing WAY more content last game. Lurking much?
That being said, I'm going to keep my policy vote on Jace right now, since I think there's exactly two people on it that I can get around. Boogie's provided no extra views in their vote. That leaves Jace who I'm still on the fence about due to his response posts, and Paige who is extremely aggressively scum hunting, so idk how to describe it, but like, they're pretty jumpy.

When it evolves beyond a gut feeling (and I have time/energy to do another iso) I will. I literally don't have a reason, it's just the vibe I got from doing a brief iso of all your responses this round. I'll look more into it in a bit.
My case against Irina isn't strong which is the reason I'm not voting for Irina. I have suspected Slam all game and have made this clear, and all this in addition to the stuff from day 1 regarding Dodd make him my top scum pick. Additionally, I voted Slam at almost the same exact time Paige did. In my mind I was the first one (obviously since that post took like 10 minutes to write) to do so, and didn't notice Paige's post until I hit submit then I read it and hit submit anyways because I wasn't gonna trash that entire post bc it made me look like I was following their lead, hence why I put at the end of my post that I was doing it to get this thread moving again. My action had nothing to do with anyone else.Zetsu wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 3:03 am His "case" against Irina is just about the most half-hearted thing I've ever seen. ......... On the whole, though: this stuff makes him look a little bit better, but it's all so fucking waffley. There's no commitment until Slam has a couple votes on him and then we see a hard push. Still a bad look, imo.
For sure you can read it this way, I don't blame you. But like I've said before, I took 2/3 of an entire day off after siding with Slam about me being the thing that's keeping the game from progressing due to my post volume, to see if that was the case and when I got back I saw 4 pages of conversations about me with Slam continuing to repeat himself and everyone else trying to move past me for a bit. That combined with having taken my eyes off the thread for longer than ever before gave me a fresher perspective which is why I got my motivation back to keep pushing. There was nothing opportunistic about my decision to post, I just logged on, read everything up to that point and did a couple iso's (including one on slam), then made my post. It had nothing to do with where the conversation was at that particular point in time. Had I arrived 2 pages earlier with the same mindset I would've made pretty much the exact same post.Zetsu wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 3:18 am indeed he does. i missed that. still, the intense pressure on slam starts, like, an hour before jace makes his big anti-slam post, though. still looks opportunistic and desperate to me. By 5:00 CST (6:00 EST, 45ish minutes before Jace commits with a vote) you'd already unvoted, called Jace's lynch a trap, and declared slam likely scum.
Ur really gonna make me go back to Tapatalk huh @paige

Interesting to characterize the shift in Slam's style as lurking; I would argue he's more active than last game but in ways that are all about nudging the discussion rather than providing leads like he did last game.

I feel better with a Jace lynch than I do a Slam lynch at the moment but... shit you actually raise a really good point with the comparison to his play last game. Slam, would you like to try more of a full-scale read like the post Paige linked?

In response to Paige, Eh, I kind of have a quality over quantity look at posting, as you said, he's been a lot more nudge-y, and frankly I would rather have him post anaylsis, leads, detailed read lists, train watching, all the stuff he did last game then this. He's more active sure, but at the same time his posts have been like, quiet? Nuanced? He definitely isn't standing out as a big town player as last time.

Irina never ceases to confuse me ;-;
Are you town, irina
Are you town, irina
Just want to reiterate what I think is the most important point here regarding a slam lynch. He has said on multiple occasions that he believes I'm town. Yet he's still insisting we kill me. Blizzard did the same with less frequency/passion and so did Irina. That's why I'm scumreading them. Which means that they were on board to give scum 4 free kills. Dodd and Fen were already killed. If I get lynched and I'm town (which, again, they've all said they believe is the case), that's me and another nightkill in favor of the scum team with no headway made on actually finding any of them. Like I get suspecting me more @Ricky & Irina, but logically speaking, the point of this game is to lynch scum and three people have openly admitted they're cool with lynching me, someone they all admitted that they believe is town.
This was an extremely redundant post, but idk how that doesn't set off scum alarms to you guys.

Nah I'm with you, that's a third of the game down. Assuming a 3 person scum team and no vig that puts us two phases from losing. We cannot be lynching town for info in a game this small.

Math to back up: 14 players, now 12. Jace is town and scum kills, that's 10 players and three scum. We mislunch and scum kills, that's 8 players and three scum. We mislunch and scum kills, that's game over cuz majority can't be reached by town anymore. A game this small can go fast. We cannot fuck around on info lynches unless we have nothing else.
