but like. why? if yugi didn't double down and claim, would anyone have really kept trying to tie him to Jace? He could've easily laid low and let it happen instead of anchoring himself to a sinking ship

MW on Day 1 wrote:And if Jace does flip scum eventually, frankly the push on Yugi over this looks really bad for Yugi IMO because it comes off as distancing--potentially shoving against Yugi to dig him back out of an otherwise-inevitable hole.
Paige on Day 2, roughly an hour before Yugi's claim wrote:Note that I'm not saying Jace and Yugi are confirmed scum buddies but if Jace does flip scum boy does it look bad for him imo
Both MW and Paige have indicated that they'll go hard for Yugi in the event of Jace flipping scum. Barring strongman shenanigans (which wouldn't be worth blowing right now unless non-Jace scum includes godfather), you can't kill both in one night. Even then, you run the risk of some townie doing an ISO and going 'huh, two people who wanted to lynch yugi next are dead...suspicious...'

that last post was in response to this question, in case that wasn't clear

I don't understand the decisions that got us here but like i said earlier in the phase, WIFOM is cut by assuming mistakes are mistakes. I could buy there is one officer and then multiple of the grunt troops, including troopers, it's fucking weird but i buy it. Multiple officers and multiple troopers is just a WTF design decision though that's a big part of what's made this whole phase so whacky tobbacy. I gotta stick to my philosophy and say yugi and Jace goofed up bad rather than playing guessing games with set up.

I'm not so confused by yugi doubling down, I said at the time it's scum yugi's best out. I'm confused by the bold move to coach Jace to Trooper and then claim it at all if they don't have fake claims, and if these are their fake claims why they're getting screwed mod-side like this unless there are other troopers.

Jace wrote: Sat Apr 18, 2020 4:30 am Just want to reiterate what I think is the most important point here regarding a slam lynch. He has said on multiple occasions that he believes I'm town. Yet he's still insisting we kill me. Blizzard did the same with less frequency/passion and so did Irina. That's why I'm scumreading them. Which means that they were on board to give scum 4 free kills. Dodd and Fen were already killed. If I get lynched and I'm town (which, again, they've all said they believe is the case), that's me and another nightkill in favor of the scum team with no headway made on actually finding any of them. Like I get suspecting me more @Ricky & Irina, but logically speaking, the point of this game is to lynch scum and three people have openly admitted they're cool with lynching me, someone they all admitted that they believe is town.

This was an extremely redundant post, but idk how that doesn't set off scum alarms to you guys.
So I was ABOUT to buckle down and put a vote on Slam, a decision bolstered by Slam's flailing about on page 47(!), kinda mull through the last two pages and I see we're about to kill Jace.

What'd I miss?

Sorry I wasn't clear on this: I only voted for Jace once I felt there was a better chance he was scum than town. In hindsight it was probably a bad move or maybe it's my tendency to regret my choices if they are not validated within 30 seconds.

Look, what I'm trying to say is I went on a gut feeling that was probably more out of frustration to get something done than anything, and when I sat down and thought about it, not much had actually changed, so I was back at square one. That's why I unvoted.
