Post by Elma* »

Name: Dylan Walsh
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Grade: Senior [12th]
School: Bayview Secondary School
Hobbies and Interests: Music, Engineering, Writing Music,

Appearance: Dylan isn't very thick, or muscular, but he has a toned six pack and a small bit of muscle mass on his arms, due to drumming. He stands at 6'1 feet, weighing around 200 pounds. His body has a total of six tattoos etched all over his body. He has an Indian tribal band around his upper arm, a two clovers on his thumbs, and a few other ones underneath his clothing.

He has stunning blue eyes, which contrast the dark purple circles under his eyes. His nose isn't very large, yet it's flat and wide, giving him some black features. He has a piercing that runs through his thin lips, with a small black bead at the end. His short scruffy black hair is cropped close to his head. He has thick sideburns that run down the side of his face, which is surprisingly clean shaven.

His clothing is very predictable, usually he never deviates from the same coat, shoes and style of jeans. He wears an 'indie' band shirt, sometime his own band's logo, that of the Ourosboros or the snake eating it's own tail. His jeans are torn, worn loose and frayed by the bottoms. He wears hard-toed army boots, which are quite unfashionable, but not that he cares.

Biography: Dylan wasn't born into a loving family by any stretch. His father, Sean, was a physically and emotionally violent man, who raised his fists at the boy and his mother, Lydia. The pair had had a child before Dylan, who died due to a miscarriage, cause Sean to look at Lydia with scornful eyes. Lydia was too weak to stand up to her husband, and the physical abuse continued, which she desperately hid from Dylan.

At age 5, just as Lydia was driving Dylan to Kindergarten, she realized she'd had enough, and turned the car onto the free-way to find a new place to live. They ended up settling in St. Paul when Dylan was just entering the 9th grade, after a failed relationship had caused Lydia to pack their bags yet again. St. Paul appealed to Lydia when she saw an add for their tourism campaign on TV. She quickly found work as a librarian, having obtained a degree in the low league college she went to.

Dylan accepted the move, though was somewhat bitter about going back and forth between place to place, but fell into the normal routine of school. He was always a poor student, due to his aggressive nature, he didn't bond with most students, who feared him. He would get into fights with various members of the faculty, shouting and arguing with an intimidatingly large voice. He is a very passionate person, and if he feels he's right, he's as stubborn as a mule. Despite never acting on violence with any of the faculty, it was always a concern his teachers would have when he argued them. It wasn't particularly deserved, but he was quite intimidating to the faculty and student bodies. He's been suspended a few times, and almost always in detention hall, with the other group of 'society's rejects' as the detention supervisor likes to call them.

Instead he found a select few to join his band and befriended them all through out High School. Grades seemed vastly unimportant to him, so eventually he couldn't just scrape by with a D average anymore, and he was forced to repeat Junior year, much to his dismay. His band, Ouros Boros, still continued to be his only release. He wrote music for the group, and vented all of his frustrations of school life into his work. He was placed in all of the basic junior classes, which he worked even less in, until he met the future members of his newest band, and a girl who'd be the love of his life.

One of the classes he was placed in was home economics class, where he was matched with Alicia Cook, a well liked cheerleader, who was entirely out of his league. While most of the class dreaded working with him, Alicia stood her ground and forced him to work, rather than to slack off and be immature. She was the first confident female figure in his life and that attracted him to her. The two became fast friends, turning the heads of her cheerleader friends, and his bandmates. She changed his entire attitude about life. Once bitter about the abuse he suffered, and lashing out in anger at any superior power, he'd grown to accept them. After less the two months, the two became romantically attached.

Eventually teachers noticed a sharp spike in his grades, going from borderline failing, to around a B- average. Alicia proved to be a good influence on him, and soon he stepped away from his band obligations, and focused more on school, even finding a passion for engineering. Math came easy to him, plus the visual aspect of engineering was exciting and kept his attention. He was happy in his math class, gaining an 'A', the highest grade he'd ever received, for the second quarter. He disbanded his band after the middle of November. While he and his band mates are quite close, he just needed to establish priorities in his life, which for once became school. But things wouldn't keep running smoothly, and by the mid spring of Junior year, Alicia learned she was pregnant.

Due to her strong catholic beliefs, she kept the child, though had a hard time telling Dylan of the child's existence. While admittedly, he dreaded raising the child, he cared about Alicia and vowed to be there through it. The two were pressured into marriage by her father, who signed legal papers to allow the then 17 Alicia, to be wed. Their wedding was in the Cook's backyard. Soon afterword, Dylan and his mother Lydia, moved into the house, where Lydia acts as a care taker, while the kids go off to school. Her father has a job, but demands the kids work themselves to help support the newborn girl, Jeanne Cook- Walsh.

He works after school as a manager of a music supply store in the local mall. It doesn't pay too well, but it counts towards providing for his daughter, so he's content to do the work. The job gives him some down time, so he seldom falls behind in classwork.

Advantages: Dylan, while not bulky, has some strength due to years and years of carrying heavy band equipment and such. While he's not even close to a bodybuilder physique, he's stronger than most would think.

What he doesn't have in book smarts, he makes up for in street smarts, so he's not entirely helpless against the other students.
Disadvantages: Dylan looks very punkish, so his appearance alone draws some criticism and glares. His aggressive nature certainly won't help him make friends either. While he isn't physically violent, the power of his words is quite intimidating, making him quite threatening.

He became friends, and later lovers, with one of the most popular girls at school. While their closest friends thought nothing of it, both lost a few friends due to their strange choice in relationships. Should he run into someone who looks down on him for dating outside his 'clique', tempers could flare.
