Appearance: Seth Lawson is Caucasian, stands at 5' 8", weighs 150 lbs., has brown eyes, white skin, and dark black hair. His facial features are average with nothing really standing out, aside from his eyebrows and a near perpetual frown. His eyebrows are quite thin, and his brow movements let him be very expressive with them. He makes a lot of his moods known through subtle movements in his face, particularly his eyes.

Seth's taste in clothing is rather bland. He rarely if ever dons anything other than the tried and true pair of jeans and a common shirt. One thing that does stand out is his affinity for belts. He is almost never seen with fewer than 3 belts, regardless of whether they are even holding anything up. He also is never seen without the necklace his mother gave him as a child. The necklace means a lot to him, and he would sooner die than ever take it off.

Biography: Born in Trenton, New Jersey to Roxanne Leblanc, the older and more cautious of identical twin sisters, Seth was the answer to his parents' prayers. His parents were informed shortly after they had married that they would be unable to have children, as his father was determined to be infertile. They struggled with the revelation, but it didn't deter them from trying. After about three years of sadness, anger, and pain they decided to give up altogether. To their great surprise, Roxanne conceived and bore their first and only child. It was a miracle, his father's family concluded. But Roxanne didn't tell them the truth. Seth's father was not his real father. In her desperation to have a child, she sought comfort in the arms of another man. It was in her moments of despair and weakness. She wanted a child the natural way so badly that she became blinded to any alternatives. The man, a long time friend of hers, was more than happy to have her. At the time she was content simply to have someone else who might give her the child she wanted. Never did she actually expect it to happen, however. And when it did she broke off contact with the father. All things told he didn't mind, as his fantasies of her were far more exciting than the reality. Roxanne moved away, her secret lover let go to pursue other prospects, and their son was born without incident. She never told her husband of the affair, nor did she ever reveal that was the cause of her pregnancy.

The boy grew up in Seattle, Washington as they had moved there shortly after his birth for his father's job. His mother always told him the history of her family, how they had lived through and seen much of the greatness of European history from the dark ages all the way to modern times. Now, she had made most of her stories up, as her family had no records that far back at all. But Seth ate up the stories and he loved her for them. She gave him a necklace she claimed belonged to one of his ancestors, a minor noble in medieval France. That wasn't true either, but he treasured it nonetheless. He became fascinated with the history of his family, but mostly the history of the medieval period. Seth studied that history with great enthusiasm; and he was enamored with the romantic ideals the people living in those times supposedly had. Nearly anything from that time in history excited him. So when he heard that his cousin Renata was coming all the way from France with her mother to live with them, he imagined hearing all sorts of stories like the kinds his mother used to tell him. He was a bit disappointed when she didn't have any such stories or history to share. But he liked that at least she had an adventurous spirit, leading him into all sorts of mischief. To him, it was like the great quests of fiction, and he thoroughly enjoyed them. He always imagined himself on some adventure like his favorite accounts, the works of Tolkien and Lewis and others like them. Other times, he viewed those adventures more like those of Arthurian lore. The more he grew, the more his interest in the period grew. Seth wanted to be a knight of the old days, viewing the world he lived in through the filter of the past and seeing nothing but decay and unrestrained hedonism. He grew disinterested with the modern world and dug himself more into the ages of the past. He studied medieval culture, weaponry, thought, music, and anything else about it that he could and became quite the little expert. He wanted to learn swordplay, but unfortunately he never found anyone who could teach him. So he remained self taught in medieval combat without any real experience.

His school life was okay for the most part. He kept to his studies; learned what he had to learn, did what he had to do. But any of his teachers could tell that he wasn't into it. The only subject he seemed to care for at all was history, and even that very little. He had friends, but he didn't relate much to others his age. Once, his cousin Renata joked that he had been born in the wrong century. He began to agree that he was off by several. The supposed moral decay all around him did little to improve his mood. The boy who had such bright-eyed idealism looked at the world around him and saw it as incompatible with him. He turned to cynicism and disillusionment. His friends could attest that his outlook on life and everything else was very grim. His grades slowly declined as his disinterest in doing anything having to do with the modern world at all kept him from even caring about school. He did put some effort when it looked like he would fail, but apart from that he didn't care. But he trudged on through, doing what needed to be done. Like it or not, he reasoned, he was born in the present time and thus he would live it as he needed. There was one thing about the modern world that he liked however. That one thing was actually several. Women were his greatest passion aside from the medieval period. He had never really shied away from girls even at a young age. As he grew older, his interest in them only became greater. He pursued many different girls, in varying ways. A few even earned him a slap or two. Still, he didn't give up. His romantic pursuits were one of the few things about the modern world he liked. A couple of times, his approach of pseudo-chivalric nonsense worked. But none of his relationships lasted long, as he really wasn't all that good dealing with real girls as opposed to his historical and fictional ideas of them. He spent so much of his time pursuing girls, he didn't really notice when they pursued him. Particularly his cousin Renata. It took him a while to catch on to why she acted the way she did around him as they grew older. But when he did catch on, he ignored it. To him it wasn't real. He believed that she was just confused and only acted that way because she didn't know how to act around guys. Seth came up with every rationale he could to justify ignoring her affection. She didn't mind, and it did nothing to deter her. But he just kept on ignoring her. He wasn't into her and she wasn't really into him. In his mind that was that.

Advantages: He doesn't have much going for him. He may be good with melee weapons, but there's no telling if his self-taught styles would even really help at all. His cynicism and outlook on life would make it hard to take advantage of him, as he would be wary of trusting anyone. Other than that, he doesn't have much.
Disadvantages: If he thinks he belongs in the medieval era, he's in for a rude awakening. He can't save everyone, can't be a hero, and the sooner he realizes that the better. Coupled with him going all stupid around a girl he likes, and he's gonna get himself into trouble. It's only a matter of time before knight-boy does something dumb and puts himself in a very bad position.
