Name: Liam Roddy
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Grade: 12
School: Aurora High School
Hobbies and Interests: Card tricks, reading, playing the guitar, video games (puzzle games), classic rock, making people laugh.

Appearance: Liam has a tall, lanky build, standing at 5'10" and weighing in at 155 lbs. While he is skinny, it would be a mistake to say he's in shape, and he has very little muscle mass. He has pale, strawberry blonde hair that he takes time in styling, virtually attacking it with gel in a different style every day. His eyes are pale grey, and he has slight laugh lines around them. He is relatively pale and carries himself up straight, and he has a wide mouth and a nose that juts out more than is ideal.

Liam's expressions are always very active - he is an easy man to read, and he laughs easily, usually carrying a mildly amused look. His self-satisfied look only disappears when deep in thought, and the change is rather startling to most. He tends to dress in the same few outfits, rotating through a cycle of nearly identical hooded sweatshirts and jeans, and always wearing the same red Converses.

Biography: The middle of three, Liam was born to Aisling and Michael Roddy on August 9th. The two of them met when Michael was on a study abroad trip to Ireland, and the two eventually found each other again five years later and were married soon after. His mother, Aisling, is native to Ireland, and she insisted on giving their children Irish names, something her husband was more than happy with. Both of his parents are working, with his father being a science teacher at another high school and his mother working as a nurse.

Liam was stuck with the curse of the middle child - His younger brother, Ian, and his older sister, Eileen, always got the most attention and concern from his parents. As early as four years old, he learned that to try and get attention, he needed to be loud - and he was more than happy to do so. Liam was a loud, somewhat obnoxious child, but he more than made up for it by being genuinely funny. He made friends easily, but the friendships were only skin-deep - he had few friends that he felt he could trust intimately. In fact, as he moved through the grades, he found that many people that were his friends the last year were only acquaintances later, eventually moving on from him entirely. While it hurt him deeply at first, he ended up getting used to it, and he started thinking that all relationships were just as fleeting and empty.

When he was nine years old, he went to a friend's birthday party and observed a hired magician. He was instantly captivated, and afterwards he did endless research into how to perform magic tricks, mainly with cards. He practiced for days on end, working at them until he felt that they were perfect, and settling for nothing less. When he was about twelve, he felt he was able to 'officially' add card tricks to his repertoire, and he always carries around the same pack of cards that he got when he was ten.

While his humor and his talents attracted people to him, they rarely stayed for long. The only person who he felt he could rely on was his older sister, Eileen. Despite his intensely jealous feelings towards her, he respected her greatly, and looked to her as his one close friend. Eileen is a very proactive person, whether she was dealing with the environment or Liam's chronically low grades. Math was his terror subject - even with his sister's help, he could never understand it, and while he could get Bs and a few As in things like English, in math and the sciences he rarely received higher than a low C. On top of that, he knew that his failure in that respect was a disappointment to his father - he as well tried to tutor Liam, to almost no avail, and Liam knew that his father found it frustrating. Because of that, he avoided most of his family, including his brilliant younger brother Ian, only speaking to his sister about anything important.

Although he appears somewhat dull-minded to others at times, Liam is actually very clever and deep, in a less traditional way. Liam is incredibly skilled at puzzles, and spends hours of the day playing at his puzzle games, sometimes in lieu of homework. He adores puzzles and mind games with a passion, partly because they are simply fun, but also partly because they make him feel smart again. Working at puzzles seems to clear his mind, much like playing his guitar does. He picked up music and the guitar when he was about fourteen, and he adored it, and he often plays the guitar when he's simply thinking. He has tried to hide these activities from his friends as school, as he thinks they're more embarrassing than anything else.

Liam never really showed much of an interest in girls - while many of his guy friends would point out hot chicks in the halls and look avidly through the Internet for porn, he never really saw much appeal to it. In his junior year, though, a number of his friends kept at him for weeks about a girl named Rachel who apparently was into him, and eventually he gave in, asking her out to the school dance. The two were together for roughly two months, and through the whole time Rachel seemed oblivious to how awkward Liam felt. Rachel was simultaneously clingy and pushy, complaining when she wasn't with him and making lewd suggestions while they were together. His friends as well pushed him to go all the way with her, saying that he wouldn't get a better chance at it in his life. Liam gave in again to their demands one night, and while Rachel seemed satisfied with the awkward sex, Liam only felt uncomfortable through the whole ordeal. He broke up with her soon afterwards, and while his friends laughed and called him a player, Liam felt embarrassed, not proud.

Liam spent a long time thinking about what had gone wrong that night - was it him, or her, was she just not the right one? But as Liam thought, he realized that he didn't find himself interested in any of the women at school. Rather, to his embarrassment, he started to notice that he found a number of his guy friendsÂ… rather attractive. He was at first unwilling to admit to even himself that he could be different, but he finally gave in - yes, he was gay, and there was nothing he could do about it. He's told absolutely no one about it, knowing it could kill his reputation among his peers, and he's even more frightened of the response he could get from his parents. He hasn't even dared to tell Eileen, though he has considered talking with her about it once she gets back from college.

Advantages: Liam is very clever, able to quickly come up with solutions to a problem on the fly. He is also very charismatic and convincing, and makes friends and allies easily.
Disadvantages: He is not very athletic, and is more than a little out of shape. He also is rather tall, and his hair and his loud demeanor make him very conspicuous. On top of that, he is easily manipulated, and can be coerced into doing almost anything.
