Name: James Johnson
Gender: Male
Age: 17 [Seventeen]
Grade: 12 [Twelve]
School: Aurora High School
Hobbies and Interests: Watching Movies, Filming & Editing, Listening to Music, Pop Culture, Reading, Chatting, Taking Things Apart.
Appearance: James is a diminutive figure, standing at just 5' 5" and straddling the line for being classified as underweight, weighing in at 112 lbs. This makes him seem a little younger than he is, and at a glance, most would peg him as closer to 16 or 15 than 17. This effect is increased by his youthful and almost child like face, that is unmarked by spots, through a mixture of sheer luck and taking a fair amount of care over his hygiene. This means that whilst he isn't exactly handsome, most would be hard pressed to describe him as anything other than cute.
He has a fairly low muscle mass, with what little he has being found on his legs, thanks to years of walking all around to find the perfect place to set up for a shoot. This also gives him a fairly intensive tan that seems to last for most of the year, only fading during the winter, when going outside stops being fun.
His eyes are rather large and expressive, despite being a very simple shade of grey, and are framed by some simple square framed reading glasses on the common occasions when he sits down and reads something, though he rarely wears glasses otherwise. The nose upon which they rest is small and rounded, and is fairly unremarkable as a feature. His face has small dimples that show whenever he smiles, which means that they are almost constantly on show, along with his perfect white teeth, which he takes great care over.
He has a fairly long mop of light blonde hair that just about covers his ears, as it curls up if it grows longer. He normally leaves his hair how it is, though on occasions when he does style it, he tends to style it as little as possible.
His choice in clothing is fairly eclectic, wearing no brand Wal-Mart street clothes one day, and expensive, branded, pseudo-formal clothes the next. He does this for no real reason, other than the fact that he really just throws whatever clothes draw his attention the most in the morning. The only true constants in his fashion sense is light blues, which happen to be his favourite colour and are the colour of a fair number of things he wears and owns, and a small grey laptop bag which he carries across his body over one shoulder almost every day.
Biography: James "Jimmy" Johnson was always a fairly active kid, bordering on the edge of hyperactivity most of the time, as he flitted amongst the things provided to him by his parents, his father, Jon, an Aerospace Engineer in the local division of Boeing, and his mother, Joy, a Nurse at the local hospital, both of whom spoiled him with toys, clothes and anything he wanted. However, their careers did mean that most of his early years were spent in the company of his grandpa (on his fathers side), Bailey Johnson, although he was know to Jimmy as "Papa".
Bailey was an ex-cinematographer, with a love for cheesy western films, where the heroic cowboy saved the day, the bad guy got put into jail, and the town was saved. As such, Jimmy was raised on these stories, which along with his grandpa choosing the least violent films, and his determination to instil a set of morals into the boy, gave him a very strong sense of self and responsibility to help others, even if he didn't express it as such.
His parents were initially perturbed slightly by the fact that he had been watching westerns, as his mother in particular thought them to be violent, distasteful things that should not be show to children. However, they did agree to it, once it became apparent that it wasn't exposing there son to any real acts of violence, after sitting down and watching Jimmy's favourite film together, where nobody was really hurt, and all the "baddies" were put in jail by the heroic cowboy who stood up for the poor, terrified villagers.
Of course, when the time came for Jimmy to go to school, a lot changed, as he talked to other kids, all of whom had different upbringings, and different levels of friendliness. In fact, talking was something he seemed to do a lot of in school, seeming to have very little in the way of culture shock, apart from the initial worries of being away from his parents and in unfamiliar surroundings. This made him a little more approachable than the others in his class, and as such, he soon had a large circle of friends, all of whom had disperse interests, and all of whom he was more than happy to help. This put his parents at ease, who had been worried that his obsession with western films would make him an outsider, or worse yet, a target of bullying.
As he continued growing up, he began to talk to his "Papa" about more in-depth things than just the plot and vague meaning of the films, asking about how these films were made. Bailey was more than happy to oblige, though he kept it as simple as he could, to avoid confusing him. This served to get Jimmy interested in his grandfathers world of cameras and actors and special effects and angles and sets and other magical words that really held very little meaning to his six year old mind.
His mother decided to foster this, and as such, his leaving gift for kindergarten was a small, cheap and rugged little camera, which he was ecstatic about, and started filming everything, as kids (and most adults) tend to when they first get their hands on a camera. This helped to take his mind off the fact that some of his friends wouldn't be going to the same elementary school as him, which was something that made him very sad, as he really didn't have any way to stay in touch with them.
Through elementary school he gained even more friends, some of whom even shared his love of cameras. He started to film more productively during this period, thanks to being able to take part in subjects like drama, where he could film the little stories they did, and whilst it was very amateurish, he enjoyed it greatly, and often showed it rather excitedly to his family.
All through this school his grades were fairly stable, slotting in at around the B grade, with some C's and A's splattered around in the subjects he lacked any particular talent for, such as PE and Art, and the subjects he was very excited about, such as Drama and DT.
When he graduated again, progressing to junior high, he fell into a slightly different crowd, as he began to experiment with using computers as a medium for his work, after discovering the wonders of video editing, when trying to send the video to one of his friends who had gone to a different school. He fell in love rather quickly with the way computers could make his films seem almost as good as big movies with expensive effects, and began to experiment with both this, and all other aspects of computing, which, when combined with a new love of finding out how things worked, put him squarely in the nerd end of the spectrum, though he still managed to be a fair degree more popular than the stereotype, by maintaining his friendly personality, keeping on top of the prevailing fashions, and helping people out as much as possible.
This not only propagated his image as the go to guy if you needed help, but also led to the creation of his YouTube channel, which, even though it wasn't exactly popular, with the vast majority of all of the view being from his friends initially, sucked up all his spare time like a black hole, between building new props, designing new storylines, and of course, chatting to his few fans.
As he graduated into high school, this general geekiness, combined with his general amicability towards everyone, and willingness to help people, has made him a go to guy if you have computer problems, Rather than associating with the more awkward or arrogant "computer guys" in the school. He also tends to be one of the first people to figure out what the schools new wireless passwords, or find the unblocked proxies so that people can screw around to their hearts content in computer lessons.
In order to explain this, people have formulated the most over the top stories about his skills with computers, claiming that he has a keylogger on the IT department, or that he is secretly part of Team P0is0n, or Anonymous, or whatever hacking group is reaching headlines that week. In response to this, he generally tends to laugh it off, or reply neither to the positive or negative, just to mess with people, as he sees it as a big joke that no-one could really take seriously. This is taken by alot of people to be an admission of truth, and is taken as sheer fact by some of the more gullible members of the school.
In reality, his skills with computers are much more tame, being limited to being able to solve a few common problems, guess or ask for password, and trial and error with a list of proxies. All of his other skills are rather more focused upon cinematography and photography, such as being able to screw around with photo shop to do image manipulation, or project things onto a blue screen.
His relationship with his family is a very loving one, as he respects his parents, and rarely argues with them on anything of note, and is hesitant to disobey them. He also still watches westerns with his "Papa" and the rest of the family.
His circles of friends are still rather expansive, and whilst he isn't quite as popular as he once was, he is still fairly popular, and has friends in most of the cliques, though especially those with geekier tendencies, or those who have interests in things that relate to his films. This makes school life fairly easy for him, as aslong as he doesn't step on anyone's toes (which he is careful not to)
Advantages: As a fairly friendly and amicable person, he has a wide variety of friends who he may be able to call support from. His small figure also means that he can hide more effectively than more bulky students.
Disadvantages: Jimmy is fairly naive, and wishes to help anyone he can. This may lead to him to being easy to trap or trick on the island. He also is fairly light and small, making him easy to overpower physically in a fight.
