((Kathryn Nguyen continued from No Rest for the Wicked ))
Kathryn was exhausted. She'd barely slept the night before. Kathryn shuttered thinking back to the events of that morning. She still had a hard time believing it. This morning she'd had Iselle and Alda and now, now she was alone. Kathryn had only herself to rely on. No one else was going to look out for her.
Except, how was she going to when she was so tired. She looked up and saw a large two story building in front of her. There had to be a place where she could hide, lay down for a little while, and get some rest in there. Approaching the building cautiously she tried several doors before finding one that opened easily.
She smiled in triumph and then moved away from the open door. Kathryn looked around and then decided to push two of the carts that looked like they'd already been moved next to the wall. They were heavier than they looked, but in the end she'd managed to arrange them in an L-shape. That way she was protected on three sides.
Kathryn bunched up some clothes to use as a pillow, and then quickly fell asleep. The rifle and walking stick within arm's reach.
