What A Lovely Annoyance

Jonathan was taking a break as he was sitting on a bench with his legs crossed. He had placed his skateboard beside him on the grass and he flicking through some messages on his phone. He didn't need to reply to any of them. He was relieved about that. He needed some alone time anyway. He needed some 'me' time. Not really. He was a bit bored. He wished that he had brought his guitar with him so that he would practice some music. It would have been a great way for him to past the time.

"Hm. I guess I could listen to some music. That would be able to cheer me up." Jonathan nodded to himself and he got out his headphones. He plugged the end into his phone and started to looks through some of his favourite songs. "Let's see. Which one would be the best for me to listen to right now?"

Tiny little thing she could loom over? Check.

Tryhard clothes complete with an adorably manly scar? Check.

Artsy type? Check.

Moody detachment just begging to be disrupted? Check.

Caedyn had found her latest target, and she hadn't really even been looking. The only reason she was out walking today was because she was B-O-R-E-D, and yet here was a perfect distraction for her to fawn over, looking like he'd be a lot of fun to play with.

It was great how things just sort of work out for you when you're this awesome.

Caedyn skipped over to the dark haired boy on the bench and eclipsed his sunlight. "Heeeey," she purred, "you go to Cochise, right?"

Jonathan's finger froze before he could even play a song as he realized that someone was blocking his sunlight. That someone was a girl he kind of knew from Cochise. Well, kind of. He stared at her in silence for a few moments. Why did this girl want to talk to him? Wait. He was bored so maybe she could pass the time for someone to talk to. He hadn't even put on his headphones yet so he placed his phone down on his left knee. Because why not.

Jonathan gazed up at the girl more properly now and he leaned back more against the bench. "Yeah, I do go to Cochise." He nodded a little, wondering what she wanted from him. "Name's Jonathan."

Was he trying to sound cool to this girl? He felt like a dork. But maybe she would say something interesting to keep his attention on her. He was kind of getting an uneasy feeling. But he was sure that it meant nothing.

"Yeah, I thought I recognized you!" Target acquired. Caedyn flipped her hair back a little and slid up next to the cutie on the bench. "Jonathan, I like it. Real, like, indie chic." He could keep her amused for awhile, until something better came along. Plus, he came with a soundtrack. That was always a bonus.

She ran a finger along the top of his guitar. "You play," she said with what she was sure was the most adorable, flirty smirk, "or just holding it for a friend?" It was nice that he seemed kinda awkward and unsure. Confidence was attractive, but low self-esteem was putty in her hands. She could wind him up any old way she wanted, depending on where her mood went. It didn't really matter where they ended up, she was all, 'the journey is the destination' and jazz.

She was deep like that. It was a burden, but one she bore with grace.

Before Jonathan could even ask the girl's name, she was suddenly sitting very close to him. Maybe a bit too close for his liking but he wasn't going to make a fuss about it for now. His personal space was getting invaded but he didn't find this girl getting on his nerves yet. Okay, Jonathan. Just ask this girl's name. At least to stop her from being a complete stranger. She would still be a stranger but he would at least know her name.

Indie chic...? Jonathan wasn't sure what she meant by that. But he guessed that it was a compliment. He didn't know and he wasn't going to make a big deal. "Thanks, I guess..... So what's your name then? I think I've seen you around but I never talked to you before." He was speaking calmly and he was making eye contract with her.

Then she said something about his guitar. It seemed like she was flirting with Jonathan too. How awkward. He guessed she didn't know that he didn't have any interest in girls. But he guessed he could play along for a while. "Sure, I play. Not very good at singing sadly." He admitted to her honestly and he shrugged his shoulders slightly. Did she want him to play for her? It would be a good idea if he actually started to play in front of someone instead of doing it in his bedroom almost everyday. "Would you like me to play you a song?"
