A runners physique and body, Ms. Golden's life has been molded by lacrosse and she carries confidence, grace, speed and power in her posture. Her skin is bronze and tanned due to days in the sun and her blonde hair is kept in a perpetual ponytail and always hidden in her black baseball cap. Miss Golden has thin lips that always seem pursed and gray eyes that are always obscured by her large aviator sunglasses.

In the halls, she is always in her uniform and quick to wield her whistle and on the field,. She is known for participating in the same drills as the students do all the while being very aggressive and exuberant in her “suggestions” for Coach Perez. Sharp features and a very shrill voice contribute to making Ms. Golden someone who both demands and commands focus whether people like it or not.

Biography/Personality: Ms. Golden grew up in South Florida and managed to find her way to Massachusetts for college. Ms. Golden attended Boston College on a lacrosse scholarship where she played midfield and had significant minutes on the same Eagles team that went to two straight championships in 2017 and 2018. An injury her senior year forced her athletic career to come to an end in a serious capacity. She dropped out 12 credits short of her diploma. Her long time girlfriend had managed to secure a position as a nurse within Salem and so after a period of job and soul-searching Joy eventually lucked into a security guard position at John Endecott Memorial—though mostly as a vehicle to coaching lacrosse.

Ms. Golden is an intense person and a type A personality who has found a resurgence of purpose at John Endecott Memorial. She is prone to taking herself and her job extremely serious and her intensity in enforcing the dress code is similar to her intensity in maintaining pace in practice. Ms. Golden has a large chip on her shoulder and is quick to throw her lacrosse resume and athletic prowess around to students whom she sees more as peers than her fellow faculty. Because of this it can be said that she enjoys disciplining and punishing students who bother or annoy her as a means of hallway justice. Deep down she knows this behavior is very petty and not befitting an adult and authority figure and she recognizes that it wasn’t so long ago that she was in high school herself—but that often has the opposite effect of endearing students to her. Ms. Golden sees herself as bigger than John Endecott Memorial and enjoys telling anybody who is willing to hear with the exception of the administration, with whom she prefers to abdicate to with pure sycophant-type loyalty and sugary fake smiles.
