Hello everybody! It's me, your Songtest Princess, recently crowned by Mr. Bill Wurtz himself! He's just as 2D in real life as he is in the videos, it's a little weird. Anyway! I figured that, hey, being the Songtest Princess is pretty cool, but what if I could be more? What if I could be princess of something else? What if I became princess of....

SONGTEST #83 - THE SOLAR SYSTEM

Lets get the generic rules out of the way once again:
[+] you know them, you love them
- Submit your song via PM or discord, whichever's easier for you

- Songs will be randomly divided into 2 or 3 semifinals depending on turnout. if you're going to be away at some point in the next couple of weeks, let me know and I can try to put your song in a round when you'll be here.

- Listen to every song and give points to your top 10 favorites: 12 to your favorite, 10 to your second, 8 to your third, 7 to your fourth, and so on down to 1 point for your tenth favorite.

- If your song is in a given round, you must vote that round or you'll be eliminated. if your song isn't in that round (or you aren't in the contest at all), your vote will be counted as a public vote, which counts for half points.

- The top [x] songs will move on to the final. that number depends on the number of contestants.

- Repeat the process for the finals and we get a winner.

- Winner gets to hold the next contest, or they can pass the job along to 2nd place if they don't want to. 2nd place can pass down to third, etc, until someone wants to host.

- I'm still Pip!!!

General song rules:
- No eurovision songs
- No reality show/competition covers
- No songs already submitted in a songtest
- There is no penalty for length in this contest. however, if a song goes over 7 minutes, listeners aren't obligated to listen to more than the first 7 minutes of the song. so choose a long song at your own risk!

Each semifinal and the final will last for three days. some rules about activity/extensions:
- If you know at the start of your semifinal that you wont be available to vote for those three days, let me know asap and I can move you to another semi, if we aren't on the final one already.
- I'll be posting every 24 hours in this topic as a reminder, as well as pinging everyone who hasn't voted on discord 24 hours before the round ends.
- Extensions will only be granted in extenuating circumstances. forgetting to vote until an hour before deadline is not an extenuating circumstance.

And now for the theme specific rules! For this songtest, I want you to pick any of the planets in our solar system - and yes, I am counting Pluto as a planet, #JusticeForPluto - and then submit a song that you think best fits or exemplifies that planet! And this can be any reason you think is fitting! Want to pick something big and bombastic to represent Jupiter, or melancholy and cold to represent Pluto? Go for it! Want to pick your favourite sappy love song to represent the goddess that Venus is named after? Absolutely fine!

And yes you could just pick something from Holst's The Planets, because they're bangers, but I might give you a look all like >:| if you do!

Please send your songs to me via Discord or board PM! When you do, if you could send me the planet you're representing, and the reason you chose it, that would be Very Lovely!

Signups will last for 3 (three) days! I'll be looking to start this on Sunday, so lets put the deadline at 11PM, SUNDAY THE 13TH OF JUNE! Go forth, and make your princess proud!

Good space evening travellers! Or space morning. Perhaps space midday! It's a little hard to tell, drifting past Mars, returning back home to Earth.

We will shortly be re-entering the Earth's atmosphere, and touching back down directly outside my flat. I don't know how I got planning permission from the county council. Maybe they wanted to see how well a samoyed could pilot a space craft? Anyway! We're in the final stretch of our journey, and we only lost one passenger along the way! So, why don't we have a recollection of the songs we listened to on our way, shall we?

If all passengers could now please fasten their seatbelts. This should be the smoothest part of the journey, but my can of root beer just got detached from the pilot's chair and is floating around my head, so, that's a little distracting.

Thank you so much for joining me on this trip around the solar system! My flight attendant, kermit, will now hand out complimentary peanuts. Maybe. It might be soup, I wasn't really checking what he was doing. Best not to, I've found.

Fen now has the rights to the next songtest! If they do not wish to host, then the right pass on down to boogie, and so on and so forth. Have a good day everybody, and enjoy your further travels, wherever they may take you!
