Calling All The Monsters

Staring at the mirror of her bathroom Dani carefully applied her makeup to her face. The last little deals before everything got started. This was her first party she was throwing in a good long while and everything, including herself, needed to be perfect. She had certain standards that she had to meet, after all. Her own social credibility — and her pride — hinged on everything going on without a hitch. She had spent nearly a month planning all this! The food, the decorations, the music… The fact her parents were going to be out of town today was something she hadn’t planned for, but it was still ideal! After all, what was a better day for a Halloween party to take place than on Halloween itself?
Her parents knew she had plans for a party today and were even okay with it, on the condition that she cleaned up afterwards. She had to scoff at that. Wasn’t cleaning what the Help was for? She agreed, of course. It was better she said yes to one simple demand and keep her plans on for the day than to say no and think of something else.
With the last bit of makeup applied, she looked to her phone to check the time. Should be any minute now that her first guest should be arriving.
Double checking herself in the mirror, she looked over her costume one last time. She was wearing a cosplay outfit of Momo Yaoyorozu from My Hero Academia. It was her latest project for her Instagram and she figured that today of all days would be a good time to debut it. It was a good choice, she thought, as the character’s attire suited her brand of cosplay well enough. A high-collared, sleeveless crimson leotard which opened to expose her skin from her neck to just below her navel was one hell of a look that would get her plenty of attention. Only thing she took issue with was the opening itself. If it weren’t for a few, thin transparent wires keeping it held in place, she was sure her tboobs would be popping out of this outfit. They still might, and that thought made her consider getting some double sided tape on. But that was something she could do later if she became more concerned about it. For right now, she wanted to enjoy her party.
Taking her phone, she held it out and took a picture from a downward angle while giving the camera a playful wink. Once the pic was taken, she was quick to open up her Instagram app and uploaded the photo with the caption: “Big Halloween party tonight! Sneak peek of my latest cosplay! Will do a photo shoot for you all later! xoxo”
Dani smiled to herself. That should give her fans on Instagram to salivate on for a while.
Her phone chimed with an alert. Looking at it she saw that the first of her guests were arriving. She smiled to herself again. It was time to get things started. She moved to leave the bathroom, quickly navigated through the spacious manor that her family owned to the front door. Looking through the glass of the door, she saw them approaching. She closed her eyes, taking a deep, calming breath to settle her nerves.
Smiling confidently, she opened the door.
“Hey! You made it!” she said, stepping aside to allow her guests entry into her home. “C’mon in! Let’s get this started already!”
