CLAIRE HAIG: PREGAME START

Claire bashed her head against her computer desk over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over until her skull cracked open and splattered her brain matter all over her keyboard.

CLAIRE HAIG: DECEASED

Or, at the very least, that is what she wanted to do at this moment in time and space.

Claire stared at the glowing light of her monitor, at an empty Grammarly document. That barren manuscript had been her entire life for the last minute or so, ever since she had deleted everything for the fifth time that hour because she didn't like it.

She felt like she had gone insane.

It was as if every single yoctogram of creative energy had left her mind.

She had music in the background, the lights in her room were off, the window was opened and allowed the cold air inside, and it was 11:29 PM on a Friday.

It should have been optimal writing conditions, so why did it still make her want to pull all of her teeth out with needle-nose pliers?

Claire left the room. She came back about ten minutes later with a bowl of snacks. It didn't help because now she'd lost track of where she previously was with the post.

She took a sip of sparkling water.

She had music in the background, the lights in her room were off, the window was opened and allowed the cold air inside, she had a snack, and it was 11:49 PM on a Friday.

It should have been optimal writing conditions, so why did it still make her want to pull all of her teeth out with slip-joint pliers?

Minutes passed, and yet she still didn't make any progress.

She took a sip of sparkling water.

Claire stared at the glowing light of her monitor, at a half-empty Grammarly document. That hollow manuscript had been her entire life for the last twenty-six minutes or so.

She checked Discord to see if there was anything else she needed to do, but she couldn't find any excuses to stop her feeble attempt to write.

She had music in the background, the lights in her room were off, the window was opened and allowed the cold air inside, she had a snack, she had no excuses, and it was 11:59 PM on a Friday.

It should have been optimal writing conditions, so why did it still make her want to pull all of her teeth out with tongue-and-groove pliers?

She opened Discord again and wished her fellow forum denizens a happy New Year. It wasn't the New Year yet.

She deleted the message.

It was anachronistic.

Claire stared at the glowing light of her monitor, at a poorly-written Grammarly document. That godawful manuscript had been her entire life for the last thirty-eight minutes or so.

She decided to post it anyway. If anyone asked, she would say it was a metaphor.
