Betty Quinn had been one of the first students to arrive at John Endecott Memorial’s homecoming dance, as was likely expected by many of her peers. She placed a high value on her own penchant for punctuality, having not taken a true sick day in over the past two years, even as a pandemic ravaged the whole world. For the most part, she was only ever counted as absent or late for important obligations when she was called upon by one of her friends.

Of course, many people didn’t share such a fixation. In fact, she found, most people didn’t. It was for this reason that she’d not come to the prom with her date, nor had she any prior intent to do so. This was something of a blind date and she felt it would be a bit much to ask Amos to keep up with her schedule, though she had made sure to coordinate their outfits.

Quinn hadn’t tried too hard to match the homecoming theme when choosing her dress. Themes could be fun, even helpful if one wasn’t particularly confident in their own aesthetic, but they could also prove limiting.

Her dress was a deep red, standing out even in the low light of the gym. It’s straps were broad and the upper half hugged her body nicely while the lower half flared outward before tapering off a bit below her knees. The back was a bit low cut, punctuated by a bow just below her middle. She also wore a pair of matching red heels.

Since the time of her arrival, she’d remained in the area near the gym entrance, mingling with others who got there early while keeping an eye out for Amos.

The dance started to pop off with the guests that trickled in, yet there was no sign of Amos.
