Name: Chester Folk
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Grade: 12th
School: John Endecott Memorial Academy
Hobbies and Interests: Left-wing politics, activism (BLM, LGBTQA+), electronic/dubstep music, composing music on his computer, video games (retro and modern)

Appearance: Chester is an African American boy, standing 5’6'', weighing 140 pounds, cutting a slim, rectangular body shape. He has a heart-shaped face with a large, straight nose, bushy eyebrows, wide brown eyes, full lips, and round ears. His black hair is medium length and has recently been styled in dreadlocks by his mother. His skin tone is dark brown in color.

His usual style of clothing consists of baggy pants, T-shirts with graphics of his favorite music artists and games, and sneakers. His most recognizable choice of clothing is a light blue and grey striped hoodie. He is often seen with white Skullcandy-brand headphones around his neck. On the day he was abducted, he wore his regular hoodie and headphones, baggy blue jeans held up with a brown belt, grey and orange sneakers, and a black T-shirt with a yellow Deadmau5 logo printed on the front.

Biography: Chester Folk was born September 12, 2004, as the second child of Emmanuel and Francine Folk. He has an older brother named Nathan, who is a college freshman. Emmanuel works as an office manager for an accounting firm, while Francine is a hairstylist.

Chester had a relatively normal childhood. He was pretty active and playful in his early years, getting along well with other kids his age. This behavior carried over into elementary school.

Emmanuel introduced Chester to one of his favorite hobbies, video games, when he was in kindergarten. Emmanuel kept an old Super NES from when he was a kid, which he made sure to keep maintained in working condition. Chester would play games such as Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter II, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the Donkey Kong Country series, and Killer Instinct, among others. Emmanuel also had a well-kept Nintendo 64, and Chester would be introduced to favorites such as Super Smash Brothers, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask, the Mario Party series, and Banjo-Kazooie. Chester’s favorite game genres include racing, adventure, platformers, and fighting, because he found their gameplay exciting, challenging, and engaging.

When Chester was six, he was introduced to electronic music by Nathan. At the time, Skrillex’s hit song “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'' was trending on YouTube, and his brother listened to it on repeat. Chester decided to listen to the song itself, and was amazed. After that, Nathan looked more into other dubstep and electronic music, and Chester would listen along with him. The best part of the music to Chester is the electronic sounds used to create melody and rhythm. Among his favorite artists were Skrillex, Deadmau5, Daft Punk, and Steve Aoki.

In middle school, inspired by his favorite electronic music artists, Chester began experimenting with music making programs on his computer. He downloaded software recommended by Nathan, and creates different music tracks that vary in rhythm and sound. He has a SoundCloud account he uploads his songs on, which have varied in reception over the years. After a several years of practice, Chester has managed to improve his music, and reception towards his craft has become more positive.

In eighth grade, Nathan came out to his family as homosexual. While initially confused at first, Chester and his parents accepted Nathan for who he was. To Chester, Nathan was the same brother he’d known throughout his life, regardless of his sexuality. His stance on LGBTQA+ individuals shifted from indifference to supportive, becoming passionate about the rights of queer and trans people. Chester believes if people like Nathan, who he views as a good, normal person, can be gay, then they deserve to be treated with as much respect as straight people.

When Chester turned thirteen, he received a Nintendo Switch. He enjoys playing recent additions of his favorite games, such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. He also likes new games such as Dragonball FighterZ, Sonic Mania, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and CTR: Nitro Fueled. He has a lot of fun with these games, and he views them as evolutions for his favorite genres. He will invite friends to play these games, as well as classic games on his SNES and Nintendo 64. He appreciates modern and classic games, and believes there are design methods modern games can implement or improve upon from classic titles.

In his freshman year of high school, Chester began taking more of an active interest in politics. His family, his father especially, had always leaned Democrat, due to the Republican Party’s opposition towards gay rights and endorsement of regressive ideals. Emmanuel has taught Chester to not blindly trust Democrats however, that their preferred party is not above criticism, and may not have their constituents’ best interests at heart. Emmanuel has also warned Chester of police unjustly killing innocent Black people. As a Black American, Chester fears being unfairly perceived as a threat by authorities. Chester has looked into movements such as Black Lives Matter, which protests against police brutality against people of color, and fully supports their cause. He has participated in marches and has made posts on social media, trying to shine positive light on the movement, against biased or negative coverage. If people who disagree with or misunderstand the BLM movement comment on his social media posts, he’ll try to educate and explain his perspective on the matter. If someone tries to demonize the movement, he will block them.

In school, Chester is openly friendly and tries to get along with most people. Whenever he talks to someone with different or opposing ideals, he tries to keep things cordial, even if they test his patience. If the conversation gets out of hand, he will try to diffuse the situation or shut things down. Chester likes to talk about music and video games mostly, trying to keep politics out of most conversations to avoid conflict. He’s a member of the gaming club at school, and enjoys playing games with the other members, often being the one to bring his retro game consoles. Academically, he’s average, keeping a B and C average. Whenever he is in need of help studying, Emmanuel or Nathan offer to help. Chester’s future dream is to make a living off of creating music, but for now, he’s keeping it practical by working part time at a Wendy’s.

Chester has a close relationship with his family. He and Emmanuel keep up with current events and have discussions over the political climate. Chester is also close to Nathan, who helps with his music, and he supports the LGBTQA+ community for his sake. Francine believes Chester can find success with his interest in music, and has been helping to find schools that can help him expand his musical skills.

Advantages: Chester is friendly and does his best to get along with everyone he meets. Chester prefers to talk rather than fight, making him come across as non-threatening.
Disadvantages: Chester’s non-combative nature can make him an easy target for students who are willing to kill. Anyone who has opposing ideals to him may find him annoying or untrustworthy.

Designated Number: Student No. 060

Designated Weapon: Hidden belt knife

Conclusion: Oh yeah, one of the "hold hands and kumbaya" types. Always satisfying when they get messily killed while crying about the power of friendship. - Veronica Rai
"Art enriches the community, Steve, no less than a pulsing fire hose, or a fireman beating down a blazing door. So what if we're drawing a nude man? So what if all we ever draw is a nude man, or the same nude man over and over in all sorts of provocative positions? Context, not content! Process, not subject! Don't be so gauche, Steve, it's beneath you."
