John Kieran One-shot

Thick with trees and snow, the tundra forest is relatively unspoiled, and some of the deeper areas have been completely untouched by man. The forest itself is made up of western red cedar, sitka spruce, and western hemlock, which have all been able to grow to large heights thanks to a lack of logging, providing areas of shelter. Some animals can also be found roaming the forest such as mountain goats, sitka black-tailed deer, and bald eagles. A dried-up riverbed can also be seen within the forest which, if followed, leads to the lower mountain path one way and the frozen lake the other way.

Damnit, I've been kicked out of Dave and Buster's.

((John Kieran START))

That was, for some odd reason, the first thought that came to John's head as they woke up. That and 'wow, this is the worst hangover I've ever had. I think I might go and throw up.'

They did. It wasn't until after they wiped the vomit from their mouth (with their sleeve, mind you. Now John has a yucky vomit sleeve.) that they noticed where they were. An island? Huh????

Oh. Right. Terrorists. Kidnapping. Death game.

This didn't quite sit well with John, as they promptly flipped their fucking shit. This is not like those evil people, with evil plans of murdering people, staring into the sky and smiling and almost celebrating. Not one bit. It's a lot like that scene in Yakuza 0 where Nishiki screams into the dark night in that one chapter of the game where that thing happens that makes him scream. Oh, yeah. Spoilers by the way. Turns out, yes. Nishikiyama does in fact scream about that thing. This is like that except Nishikiyama is agender, a (self-proclaimed) non-binary icon, and was in a death game. So, basically, these two events have absolutely nothing in common except for the way that they are expressing themselves. They're even expressing different emotions, Nishiki expressing sadness, whereas John is expressing fear.

John needs a plan. Find their friends is step one. Apes together strong. Next, find a way to get the fuck out of dodge.

A backpack! Nice! Weapon? Sharp shovel! Actually...pretty useful. Sharp means hurt. Hurt means bleed. Bleed means kill! Kill, however, is bad. Self-defense only.

John gave a deep breath in, and out.

"Shit."

And continued.

((John migrates, shovel in hand, ready to entrench someone if they attack them first.))
