In-Character Processing and Release Procedure

Following the rescue, the remaining students are taken to Joint Branch Lewis-McChord located 9.1 miles (14.6 km) south-southwest of Tacoma, Washington for medical attention beyond what was able to be given immediately following the rescue. All students will be taken for medical exams and check-ups for a week. During this week, family members are notified of the status of their children and escorted to the hospital for visitation and housed at the base. Both locations will have security to prevent unauthorized access to the families and students. Each student will have their own room in the hospital.

After a week, students will have interviews with Interpol and United States government officials, mainly for the purposes of gathering information on the terrorists. The interviews are not concerned primarily with what actions students may have taken on the island but more so gathering information on what they have witnessed regarding the terrorists and their operations. Military will warn students that they are free to talk about their personal experiences, but anything having to do with the terrorists and their operations are matters of national and international security. Revealing information that could put investigations at risk can be penalized by possible fines or jail time.

After two weeks, everyone will be escorted back to their homes. Extra security will be provided for students who are at risk of retaliatory violence and/or at least one kill to their name. Students will be mailed their high school diploma and need not return.
